Great Package for the Money
I'm comparing this to the Ibanez Gio I borrowed for a few months to start learning on till I got the money for a guitar. As a beginner guitar this is a decent set. Frets are a little rough on the side but nothing bad or sharp, Mine does not have a problem with fret buzz. The tuners work great and the guitar stays in tune, Make sure to stretch the strings out before you start playing. It was easy to get the intonation set. The action was fairly decent, straight from the factory but everyone preference is different. All the pickups, knobs, and the selector work fine. The finish on the body and head stock are perfect with no dents, scuffs, or scratches. The neck and fret board is unfinished so it will collect dirt from your hands, fingers and the strings and stain a little, which kind of gives it a used look which I like. There are a couple of blemishes on the fret board like chatter from the planer when they cut the fret board but nothing that affects it's play-ability. The Amp works, everything on it functions, as I don't use the amp to practice its not a big concern of mine but it sounds fine to me. The electronic tuner works great no complaints there. The Cable that comes with it feels really cheap and was not the chromacast cable shown in the pictures. The strap is really cheap I would recommend getting a different one. For the money this is a good choice, I had my doubts when I bought it but after getting my hands on it, setting it up how I like it, and practicing I pretty satisfied with it.

With a few adjustments to the first you can SHRED with the best of them
For an out of the box setup the SAWTOOTH HAS TEETH!!! With a few adjustments to the guitar you can SHRED with the best of them. Amplifier sounds great..a little feedback on overdrive but what amp doesn't....Complete with tuner you have everything you need to get started practicing away. The guitar chord has a small diameter for its size and might account for some of the feedback so make sure you get a REAL DIAMETER GUITAR CABLE. A soft guitar case would put the SAWTOOTH straight into Five Star category:.Oh, and even the picks are a composite or of such a material that they make playing seem a little less effortless...they feel great..A SURPRISE FOR THE MONEY AND THE PLAYER...

Bright guitar with a surprisingly strong amp
The starter kit came with everything you needed to play out of the box, including a pick, cable, a tremolo bar, and of course, an amplifier. The guitar itself is very bright, and the maple fretboard carries higher octaves better than rosewood, making this a guitar suited more for lead guitar than rhythm guitar, although if you really wanted to, you could adjust the pickup height up. The guitar is very soft, so set the amp settings to ten. Which brings me to the amp, which comes with a built in eq, a built in drive, and built in gain. The drive sounds a lot like a fuzzbox pedal, but I still suggest that everyone should get a preamp unit or a multi-fx before gigging with it, as the sound will not be as good without one, but for a beginner, just the amp will be enough.Suggested settings to simulate popular effect pedals:Fuzzbox: Turn on the driveOverdrive: Tone up to 10, gain at 10Distortion: Tone at 0, gain at 10

Good for beginners but lacks any instructions
I bought this guitar to save me continually retuning my current one from E standard to Eb (Thin Lizzie Lenard Skynard etc). It is not a 500 dollar set but is well worth $100 for practice and small jams. It was as described and holds tune very well considering the price. It works well on Rocksmith 2014. The amplifyer works well if kept below half volume (which is plenty for average sized rooms). Low E can sound a little tinny but I am sure better strings would sort this out. As it is sold as a beginners set it lacks any instuctions. All in all I am very satified with this purchase.

Sawtooth Black Electric Guitar bundle with amp.
For the money, this is a great little guitar. It is light weight and stays in tune all day. I highly recommend this for a beginner, or for a beater, to drag around and keep your good guitar safe at home. The amp has one sound pretty much and no matter how you adjust the gain, midrange, etc, it sounds like your in a hole. I recommend this for a practice amp, and if you want to play in front of anyone, go ahead and upgrade on that. This is why I gave it a 4. The guitar alone for the price would get a 5.

Debating getting my money back or screw the extra effort and suck it up as a learning experience...
Ok first off, im a beginner and I see things wrong with it. I bought this package to play Rocksmith and the amp was a plus so I could practice in another way. Rocksmith is awesome, the guitar and amp I bought, not so much. At first everything was absolutely perfect, but now that I've used it for about 2 weeks it cant hold a tune very long at all. I feel like as much as I am playing it, I am tuning it now. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and though maybe its just the software. I've used multiple tuners and still I get it tuned and then its off -20 in no time.. It looses tune like this even after just laying around. Best advice, get a real guitar even if you are a beginner but serious (like I am) about wanting to learn. Just practicing hand movements and getting grip strength is fine on this guitar, but THATS ALL!! Oh, BTW The amp is useless, it hums like crazy... Debating getting my money back or screw the extra effort and suck it up as a learning experience...

So this is my first review but after all the crap i've been buying thanks from the help of other peoples reviews, i thought I'd write one for this. the guitar came SUPER FAST.Everything inside was like double boxed and all the accesories came with it. The guitar itself had ZERO damage to it and i only had to work for about 20 to get the tuning to stick. The sound is great and the amp that came with it is very good, I bought 2 last week. If you're looking for a guitar that's for "intermediate" level people or even beginer, I totally recomend this guitar and if you want something good at a hell of a reasonable price to riff around on and sound nice, I'd pick this guitar. Sawtooth has a new customer

Great value for learning how to play guitar
The guitar has a couple of smudges on it and is not of the highest quality, but it works fine, and for the price it is a very good value. Do not expect the quality of a $500+ guitar when you buy this. But if you are a beginner, this gets the job done. Once you learn how to properly play the instrument it will be time for an upgrade, or if you want to play music in front of a crowd, this may not be a good choice.
