FI Lamps Sony KDF-50E2000 Rear Projector TV Assembly with OEM Bulb and Original Housing

The bulb is great, brightness is vastly improved but we now have a 2" red bar running across the top of picture. Through online research I've learned that this is a common defect in the KDF 50e2000 and similar model Sony TV's having something to do with the failure of a key component called an optical block.. Not sure if the brighter, hotter lamp created or illuminated, literally, the problem but If you have a Sony LCD projection TV mfg from 2005-2008 timeframe you may be better off putting the $85 towards a new TV as there is no easy or economically viable fix for the failing optical block.

Love this product. The lamp compared to the one I had in the television you could clearly tell was a much better quality. The lamp quality was evident once we unpacked it from the box. Once the lamp was installed, there was instantly a brighter picture. There was a movie that my daughter recorded and once I installed the new lamp she had to go back and watch it over. Was soooooo excited to see the brightness of the picture. I will use this again. I just hope the life of the lamp is as good as the quality.

abri la carcasa y lo compare con el foco original de la TV y puedo decir que si es original por las conexiones el gravado Phillips, y al instalarlo brillo muy bien la pantalla. Aunque mi televisor al encenderlo sigue anunciando que debo cambiar el foco, pero nada que preocuparse.

Arrived on time, easy to install using rubber gloves, screen color excellent: chose more expensive /original part over generic less expensive for predicted longer life of both bulb and TV!

These model TVs are known for causing red lines at the top. I put new one in and whether OEM or cheaper knock off same result. Put the old bulb back in and it's gone. So it is the replacement housings and or bulb production causing problem.

My sony tv is 10 years old. The picture was very dark. I replaced the bulb which made the tv picture look like new. Easy to replace. It was way less expensive then buying a new tv.

It works perfectly, unlike the cheap knock offs. I've tried them twice and both times they didn't work. But this one is perfect.
