Much Better than expected
The Copper Chef arrived on our doorstep on a Friday. Saturday we christened it by cooking up linguini in clam sauce. We cooked the linguini in its own pot of salt H20 but cooked up the rest of the ingredients, including the live clams, in the Copper Chef. When the pasta was done (about the same time the clams had opened up) we used tongues to transfer the pasta directly into the Copper Chef. After a thorough, gentle stir...time to plate up. WOW. The next day we went on line and followed Eric Theiss’ recipe for quesadillas. FANTASTIC. And the quesadillas literally slid right out of the pan. For both the linguini and clams and quesadillas meals it was simply rinse and wipe dry...er...the pan, that is. We have a gas stove so we set the flame a bit lower because the copper seems to conduct higher heat. This is a fun pan to cook in. At first glance you don’t get the perception that it holds a lot but because the pan is very deep...it DOES hold a lot (can’t wait to try the lasagna recipe.) Haven’t had a chance to use the steamer tray yet...no...wait...I take that back...yes...we did use it as a trivet to place the Copper Chef pan on when we got it to the table. My wife and I were delighted that when taking the Copper Chef off the stove the handles were cool enough to use our bare hands...however...we have seen from the demo videos that you MUST use mitts (or some kind of protection) when taking this out of the oven. We have already decided that our first time oven use with the Copper Chef will be Eric’s recipe using the four small steaks...we will cook up Fillet Mignon (okay, I’ll have to work some overtime to buy these puppies...but hey...it will definitely be worth it.) We are having fun thinking of all the possible recipes the Copper Chef can produce...and we’re just getting started. One last thing...it is important to use only plastic or wooden utensils with this so as not to scratch the Copper Chef. As the old saying goes, ‘you take care of it...it will take care of you.’ We hope you will enjoy and have as much delight and fun with your Copper Chef as we have so far had with ours. Thank you Copper Chef...thank you, Eric...I wish I could thank you personally. You make cooking fun and exciting...Lare Austin

UPDATE: DO NOT use metal utensils with this pan! Be warned!
Update: November 29, 2016:WARNING: Do NOT use metal utensils with this pan. They will scratch the coating off. I had been very pleased with this pan for the last several months, but I was very careful and only used the nylon utensils provided. But while preparing Thanksgiving dinner, my sisters used metal utensils with this pan and they scraped the coating off the inside of the pan. Now the pan is ruined. So please, despite that they show the chef using metal utensils in the infomercial, DO NOT use metal utensils. You'll be sorry.I'm reasonably pleased with this pan and accessories. The pan is clearly heavy, quality construction, and conducts heat very well. The lid is well made and fits perfectly. I haven't used the fry basket or steamer inserts, but they appear fine. My purchase included nylon utensils which I didn't expect. I've used the pan for cooking and reheating, but not baking. The square shape accommodates a lot of food; certainly more than a traditional round pan. The non-stick feature works well. All in all, I think it is a good purchase. I'm a bit uneasy with the finish after reading other reviews where the pan scratched, burned, or scorched easily. But so far, I haven't had any problems.I'm deducting one star for the clear inconsistencies snd poor quality of the included recipe book. There are errors throughout that could have been corrected with basic editing, such as the omission of oven temperature in a baking recipe. There are also obvious inconsistencies such as photos showing the chef using metal utensils in the pan, when the pan instructions clearly state that metal utensils should not be used. Even the most junior editor would have caught these problems, and I hope the company will make the corrections in future editions.

I think I got a bad Counterfeit that was probably made and exported from some poor country??
Tristar Products 4 Piece Chef Pan with Glass Lid, Copper I only gave this item 3 stars due to Amazon's easy and Great refund policy. I got the refund back quickly, as soon as they had received this item back.I think I got a counterfeit pan!! I don't think this pan was a Tristar made pan?? I don't think this pan would have passed the QA inspection on the mfr floor. If this pan was mfr'd by Tristar, then they need more or much better QA people working for them. The pan coating was fine on the inside bottom surface of the pan, where the food is cooked on, but the inside sides surface was very poorly coated if any coating at all. The sides of the pan looked like only some kind of cheap copper colored spray paint was only painted on the pan and was even beginning to rub off! -- I think this pan was just a poorly cheap imitation of the Tristar Copper Chef pan? --If you do purchase this pan, then make sure you purchase from a reputable vendor or store front or just purchase this pan from Amazon or Tristar directly. -- I think there are allot of fake products out there probably coming from some poor country making fake products just for a quick buck. --Just be careful from whom youpurchase from a reputable vendor or store front or just purchase this pan from Amazon or Tristar directly. -- I think there are allot of fake products out there probably coming from some poor country making fake products just for a quick buck. --Just be careful from whom you purchase this pan from. I may try purchasing this pan again from Amazon directly or maybe from Tristar directly just to give this pan another chance. This pan looks great on TV, if it can do everything that is shown? But only if this pan will work and last for at least 3 years of use, for this price they are asking for. I would really like to try that "Macaroni and Cheese" recipe they show on the infomercial cooked right in the pan with all that cheese without having to drain any water! --That would be great to make but I would add some sweet corn and diced ham and/or sausages and/or ground beef into the recipe and make it a "Dirty Mac & Cheese!", --Yum!!!

Works as advertised
Pot/ pan looks and works as per advertised. The packaging it came in was not a Copper Chef box but a brown box with the items loose inside. Not sure if it was repackaged for any particular reason, but if it was a gift, it wouldn't look nice/presentable.

After careful use for a week (according to instructions), a little bubble on the inside of the pan came up. When scratching it with my fingernail while washing it, it actually came off (copper surface) exposing the aluminum underneath... very small, but very disappointing.
