Deck Is Okay But Cloth Is Cheap
The deck is a standard Rider-Waite deck. It has the same blue cross-hatch design on the back but is not U.S. Games quality. It is a little smaller (2.25" x 4") than the standard Rider-Waite. Card stock is thinner, more like playing cards, but that may help people with smaller hands shuffle. The colors on the cards follow the standard Rider-Waite version. The included instructions are a one-page fold out with Stuart Kaplan's name but it appears to be excerpts. The booklet says U.S. Games but there are no publisher markings on the box and the cards don't feel like any of the other U.S. Games editions I own. It may be a knock off. If you are new to Tarot do yourself a favor and discard the instructions that come with the deck. Amazon carries many excellent books that provide far more useful information. The "tablecloth" that comes in the package is poor quality. It's about the size of a kerchief, 19" x 19" square. It is coarse, stiff, and was creased badly from packaging so I tried hand washing it with warm water. It appears to be waterproof so I think it is plastic of some sort. The design on the front started chipping off when I blotted it dry. I will keep the cards but the "tablecloth" will go. A bag made of some sort of cloth would have been a much more useful accessory. The "spirit pendulum" is a black crystal shaped item (may be Obsidian or it may be plastic) on an inexpensive gold colored chain with a tiny gold colored crescent moon shaped charm.

Cards are classic; interpretations are subject to, well.. your interpretations.
While I appreciate the consistent quality of these classic cards, I’m fortunate that I’m familiar enough with the Rider Waite deck to recognize conspicuous discrepancies in the reading definition/card meaning booklet. Back in the day, the pamphlet was about the same size but of a laminated sort of paper with Staples…( it’s weird that I would remember those details <_<)… But the meanings have drastically changed from that to this folded addition. The card meanings here are brief, inaccurate to traditional rider Waite depictions and all major deck interpretations... especially of the Major Arcana. I’ve found myself having to check online references and old school spread reading guides (Sybil leek would cringe, Id reckon.)I nevertheless can rely on the quality, durability, and artistic accuracy of this product. It’s the same deck it’s been for long enough to know; if I can pull the proper meanings off a dusty shelf in my memory (circa 2002 ?) - then it’s worth it to get an affordable genuine Rider Waite as such, but I do recommend you find your way of reading them both in more comprehensive and collaborative publications or websites.. and in your personal empathic and energetic Interpretations most essentially. Your personal view and feel for cards matters much more than a cursory definition generated more as a simplified version of a widely framed purpose and point.

Good for Halloween, Not Acutal Divinity
I got this because I needed a tarot deck, and this set was cheaper than getting just the deck. The cards are good, though they are the "mini" deck, not the full-size cards. I don't need a full size, so I was fine with that. Also, the instructions inside of my deck seem just like the ones in the normal full-size decks, not photocopied? The necklace pendant, I'm pretty sure is NOT a real gemstone, is just a resin fake. Mine is different from the photos for some reason. It has a layered double chain with a little moon charm alongside the pendant. Totally not a pendulum, but it is an adorable necklace! The "cloth" is not cloth, but rather the material they make cheap free bags from. You can't use it for actual divining since it's not a woven fabric from natural fiber, but it looks very pretty as a small table cover! It would be great for Halloween decorating or just to cover a table with a pretty pattern. The material is pretty thick though, and I think might be waterproof? Not 100 percent. So if you want the set for an actual tarot reading? I'd pass unless you just want the cards for cheap. For a Halloween stuff or just a cute set? Hell yeah, get it!

Yup! I Reordered!
Despite some critical reviews, I ordered several for my students as their beginning decks-- as I think we all cut our teeth on Rider-Waite. I figured that-- for the price -- we could withstand a little shoddiness. I was totally pleased with the sets. The cards are squeaky new and full weight, and the cloth is a nice addition. The pendulum wasn't part of our plan, so I'll have to teach that lesson at a later time.My own R-W deck was from 1976 and I had gifted it to my grandson and was using my mini-R-W as a" travel deck," but my aging eyes now need full-size again, so I am now ordering one for myself! And my students are totally satisfied to the point where they won't even look at my catalog of hundreds of other deck designs.I count this as a "win."
