High quality Chair
Delivery as expected. No damage. Chair is great for sitting in front of a computer for long hours. Keeps your posture upright and reduces strain. Pricey but highly recommended.

Great chair, well worth the price
Did a lot of research and reading of reviews (including here on Amazon) before buying. I took a leap of faith and am very pleased that I did. I bought this chair to upgrade an inexpensive mesh chair purchased from an office supply store. That chair was good, however the mesh started to sag and the chair ended up giving me back and hip pain after long periods of sitting.I settled on the Gesture after reading reviews and finding a decent price on Amazon. I find that the chair works just as I'd read. It arrived well packaged without any dents, markings, or missing pieces. Its a supportive chair, especially in the back area. The seat is fine, definitely more firm than I'm used to. Its not plush at all but more of a supportive feel. It took a little bit of time to set up everything to my liking but now that I've got things dialed in, I can sit in this chair for an entire workday without back and hip pain.If I had to come up with a complaint, the arms, while very adjustable, are not my favorite. They have a bit of a convex shape to them so my arms tend to slide off when I lean on them. Otherwise, great chair and I would recommend purchasing if you're considering it.

Firm and supportive task chair that's good for taller people
Excellent task chair for sitting/working for an entire business day plus into some evening hours. Buyers should be aware that while this chair his upholstered, its designed to provide FIRM support more akin to taught mesh than memory foam. The good:* The chair arrives fully assembled. Amazon will deliver inside your front door or will take directly to a specified room for a small charge.* The chair has a wide and usable range of adjustments that make it easy to find a comfortable working position. The control layout makes it easy to make adjustments during the day as you desire- definitely not a "set and forget" chair unless that's what you want.* The arm rests can be moved positioned over a huge range of motion. The height and adjustment on the arms supports a comfortable "cradle position" so that you can do things like comfortably hold a baby or pet in one arm and type with the other.* The seat pan is adjustable over a wide range and provides good thigh support for longer legs.* The back height provides support and is comfortable for people 6'+* The construction materials are high quality and look like they will last for years. The not so good:* While the chair is rated to 400 pounds, the seat pan is only 19" across. If you have more than about a 40" waist, you may find the seat cushion simply too small to comfortably accommodate your body. Steelcase really needs to offer a "size C" for this chair ala the Aeron.* The carpet casters are simply too small for the chair. The casters allow the bottom of the cylinder to drag across the surface of even a low pile carpet. Using a chair mat is pretty much a requirement with this chair.* The chair is *heavy* and can be cumbersome to move up and down stairs or over objects.* There is no option to retrofit a headrest to the model that comes without one.

pricey but you get what you pay for
Many people will question paying over $1000 for an office chair. Especially one that looks like this one since it is not extravagantly padded but like most classical things the proof is in the sitting. It is able to withstand up to 400# while not looking like a big and tall chair because some of us are wider than tall. Secondly it is ergonomically designed. It is also adjustable the back the seat the arms all have manual adjustment features so if you have short legs the seat can have less depth and vice versa. It has a 12year guarantee and it comes fully assembled. It weighs around 40 # and comes via a third party carrier who I have a small beef with since I asked for back door delivery since it was going in that room and not side door (look at the weight and we are all female in this house). But it is now in its new home and if I can get my families bodies out of it, it will be a great investment.

Very supportive desk chair!
After a year of working from home, I broke down and decided to upgrade my desk chair. While this chair is definitely top-of-the-line in terms of cost, it's worth it. It adjusts in all the directions you would expect (back, height, seat, arm rests, etc.) and HOLDS your adjustments. The back support is wonderful, and I haven't had any more back pain since the upgrade (yay!). Furthermore, the back tilts, which is lovely! The casters are very heavy duty, and I felt no need to upgrade to the heavy-duty roller blade wheels I had put on my old chair. The arm rests adjust up and down and in and out, which makes it nice to slide under my home desk. The only issue that I have found is that the seat doesn't adjust out quite far enough for my thighs, and tall people (I'm 5'8") might not have enough leg support.

Not For All Backs
I did a ton of research and I was pleased to see Steelcase ranked so highly. I've had several (very old) Steelcase chairs in the past and took a chance on this one, even at its high price point. The ability to change positions was nice at first. After about three days of continuous use and many attempts to change positions however, I could not bear the back pain. My lower back felt as if its being crushed from above. I was having trouble walking and sleeping. The chair is sitting in a corner of my office and has been replaced with a chair that costs 1/10th the Steelcase. This model will be returned and I'll eventually find someone who can refurbish my 1980s Steelcase chair. Until then, I need to find a good chiropractor.
