Great for slippery, treated lumber stairs.
These treads work great, especially on treated lumber stairs - where there is very little sun. Great traction for shoes, and I wouldn’t worry about pets. Pets will learn to step around them. The screw length is more than adequate for solid lumber.

Easy to install; grip very well!
Updated review after about a year of use: these are still holding up so very well! Nothing is showing bad wear, and they aren’t coming loose. They still look good. So happy with this purchase and they haven’t disappointed me!——-—-These Grip Strip treads are a hard plastic-like material, so don’t expect soft rubber material. They have nubbly bumps all over them that will help secure your footing—if you walk on them barefoot, it’s going to be a bit uncomfortable as they are a little sharp but when I put on my thinner flip-flops and tried them out, I didn’t feel a thing. My outdoor steps become super slippery and I’ve slipped on them twice in the last year and hurt myself, but when I tried adhesive strips that cost less, they peeled off rather quickly in our mountain weather of snow, ice, cold, warm, rain, and for me, a lot of trees and shade and droppings from trees.I did a lot of research and looking around for something better and these Grip Strips seem to be the answer. They aren’t cheap—for the size I received, they are about $54 for 8 of them, but worth every penny if they stop me from slipping on very slippery stairs, or someone else from doing so! And so far, so good.I put down two for each stair, just to be sure. They were very easy to install—went quite fast actually. They supply the screws. Just screw them in, then loosen the screws a little bit, and you are done. The tools we used are: hammer, Phillips head screw driver. That’s it.They look better installed than I thought, but had they been ugly I woudln't care—no more slipping and dang near breaking a leg or arm. My stairs don’t receive much sun at all, and they can become treacherous when it rains a lot. But, I’m also curious to see how they’ll do in ice/snow and I have confidence they’ll do great. It cost me $200 to do all the stairs, with two on each stair, but I think it’s worth it. There simply aren’t that many options out there for stair tread safety that are not adhesive, so I’m happy to have found these screw down treads.

Excellent product. As pleased as can be. Durable, safe in winter, easy install. Perfect!
As a person who over-thinks every project, these were purchased to accomplish several goals: They had to be practical for Maine's snow and ice. They had to be durable with no chipping or cracking throughout heavy family use. They had to be trip-free, with a surface that was level with our porch carpet and a texture that would keep everyone from slipping while not grabbing shoe soles to create a different falling risk. We are now in our second winter, and they turned out to be perfect on every front. They don't ice up, they don't trip people, and they create an excellent non-slip edge for rain, snow, and ice. Choose these. You won't regret it.

Prevent slipping on stairs
Work well. Ordering more. Had held up very well after 3 years. Minimal wear. Beats a lawsuit from a tenant!

A must for safety, easy to install, much more durable than tape on solutions.
I bought three of the 8 packs and am extremely happy with them We have a two story outdoor wood staircase that can get slippery in rain or snow. These installed easily and came with the needed screws. I pre-drilled the holes for the screws to reduce the chance of the wood splitting from the screws.I found a YouTube video that looked like a commercial for the Gripstrips that mentioned how to install them (about an inch from the edge of the step, screws to the outside of the holes). The problem is they didn't explain the install in any more detail than that. They said install the screws to the outside of the holes and back them out a quarter turn to allow for the wood to expand and contract. What didn't make sense to me was why the screws should be on the outside. Wouldn't it make more sense to center them so the strips can shift left or right as needed? Also, they don't say if you should install the screws to the outside left or outside right or opposite sides. Some of those could lock the grip strips in place. I said to heck with it and centered the screws since that made the most sense to me.Aside from that, the install was easy, they seem to be durable, and you can feel they actually have little teeth that provide a lot of grip. We'll see how they do through the winter and I'll update this review if they don't perform as expected. So far, so good and I'll likely buy more for my back stairs now.

Pricey but does the job!
These grip strips are a pricey option but in my opinion are worth the money since they will last forever and provide excellent grip. I've installed these on my slippery wooden steps leading to my front porch and on the wooden ramp leading into my shed. These do a great job keeping me from slipping on my butt!I first noticed grip strips being used by my township across wooden walking bridges, so I knew I was getting a professional grade product.

Very grippy!
Work as advertised. Had to screw into my Azek synthetic trends but worth it for the anti-slip.My wife and I both slipped and fell on the stairs last winter and no slipping the winter since I installed. Might just leave them on all year so you can’t see the screw holes.Bought the longer screws recommended in another review and easy to install w cordless drill.

Great traction
Excellent nonslip strips for outdoor steps. Tried several brands of adhesive strips but these last and provide better traction. My steps are subject to rain, tree leaves and algae. Didn’t recommend if you go barefoot.
