Do it yourself all the way. Customer Service is HORRIBLE
I was looking for an elliptical with a wide stride ( think Open Stride of a $13,000 Precor Adaptive Motion trainer). I did a lot of research and even went to several stores trying to get a look at some of the options. Well, most stores ( here in U.S.) have NO ellipticals on site and state that one would have to simply blind buy it after doing research online. There ARE TONS of widescreen TVs and food available in the stores for purchase though-- which explains the obesity issue in America. But I digress . Anyway, I contacted the Go Elliptical co at the PHONE numbers listed on their website to find out where I could see some of their products. I could NEVER could get a live agent. There are very limited number of reviews on this company, their products and NO products on the ground anywhere. I emailed to inquire about how to get more customer driven testimonials. I received a nasty email saying ' American retailers don't pay their bills, so our company refused to put any of our in U.S. stores. You'd have to buy this blindly. " I told them that this is essentially like buying a car without being able to see or test-drive it. They could care less. I guess they hate Americans but love American $$$$$.To this day, I have never had a conversation with a live agent. Totally ignorant, tacky and pathetic.Anyway, I ended up purchasing the V-950X. It arrived in 2 boxes. I put it together myself. It took a few hrs. The instructions that came with it were TERRIBLE. Thankfully, most of it was intuitive. The joint covers are made with extremely cheap plastic and come with cheap screws that are prone to breakage ( and they break and get stuck so that one would not be able to use the joint cover at all unless they use superglue to glue edges together). The most 'complicated' part of the assembly is the console/ cable connection to assure proper functioning of the electrical feature of the machine. The image and instructions in the manual are HORRIBLE. I contacted the company re: this issue and I received an extremely defensive response from a Go Elliptical Customer Service TROLL. In fact, each interaction I have had with the CS of this 'company' has been met with a very defensive, irritated, patronizing attitude. I have saved the email and intend on posting them on SM so people can see what they will encounter if dealing with this company-- which is based in Taiwan but uses German technology ( thankfully) to create the machines. The machine itself is adequate for what I wanted it to do, but all the other nonsense and abundance of cardio equipment on the market make buying from the Go Elliptical Trolls unnecessary. I'd recommend buying from this company as a very LAST option-- if it MUST be an option at all. Good luck!

Excellent Product
I was looking for a mid priced machine to keep me going for a few years at least. And this one fits the bill. Full disclosure: I paid a mechanically inclined friend to assemble. That said, assembly seemed daunting at first, but it went well (though I mostly watched). All parts were included and no mid assembly surprises. Follow the directions and it's doable. At any rate, the machine is up and running and I've used it every other day for the last couple of weeks. And for the price, this elliptical is top shelf. It's sturdy, smooth, and quiet. And the programmable dash is more impressive than the Amazon vid. Now I have an excellent indoor cardio option through another cold New England winter. And it looks pretty dang cool in my comparatively small den. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Problems with the V-950X
The media could not be loaded. Here are a few issues with this Elliptical....aligning and putting in small screws, alignment of plastic moldings, operation board is out of alignment; when trying to put the power cord in the pin in the inside is not in align with the hole. So the power cord doesn't work. I would need another operation board. A piece of tape covering screws that are left in place to keep them from rattling out during shipping or tightened. The plastic molding is cracked in some places or fagile when putting in small screws it cracks. The Elliptical machines are awesome but this one has flaws in the assembly. I'm not looking for perfection but at the cost of this machine I still should be able to use it.

Squeaky, but good program options
I've had it for a month or so now and it has become very squeaky. I've sprayed about every single spot with oil and it is better, but it still makes a lot of noise compared to first use.I do like all the programs to use though and it is a good workout.
