100% stains teeth- KEEP AWAY!!!
When it comes to dental hygiene, I consider myself a bit obsessive-compulsive. That’s why I still brush my 7-year-old’s teeth in the PM. That said, I know his teeth inside and out and take pride seeing his healthy pearly whites each day. He doesn’t drink soda or juice, so when his teeth started to develop brownish stains in between his teeth in less than a week after I started using this mouthwash, I noticed it right away and knew it had to be the result of this mouthwash! I googled “brown stains mouthwash” and, sure enough, I discovered that cetylpyridinium chloride (CC), an ingredient in this and many other mouthwashes, causes staining! Check the ingredients for yourself! I immediately stopped using this and switched over to Listerine Total Care (purple one) since CC was not listed in there. My daughter also switched over, too. I figured her stains were a result of hasty brushing. But since she switched over (and got her stains removed by our dentist), the stains have never returned. I’m so glad I made the switch. I don’t think understand why Listerine puts CC in their kids’ products, as they don’t put it in their regular adults’ formula. While the adult formula is more “spicy” than the kids’ formula, at least they don’t end up with brown teeth!
