Thermos brand NSF/ANSI 53 Certified Filtration Bottle reduces contaminants such as: aesthetic chlorine, chloramine, atrazine and particulate class V contaminants, as well as bad tastes and odor, from water. The filter does not reduce fluoride. Achieving an NSF certification assures the product complies with all standard requirements by a well-respected certification organization. Thermos brand NSF/ANSI 53 Certified Filtration Bottle features an innovative gravity-fed filtration method that allows water to pass through the filter naturally, and not by force, giving it increased contact time with the filter, resulting in contaminant-reduced water that is ready to drink. Made from BPA-free Eastman Tritan copolyester material, this 22 ounce bottle features an open spout that allows for great flow rate with no forceful sucking or squeezing required. It also features a hygienic, locking, push button lid with one-handed operation and integrated carrying loop. NSF/ANSI 53 Certified filter lasts for approximately 20 gallons (128 full bottles) and is enhanced with DuPont licensed filtration. This Thermos brand water filtration product is not designed to purify water. Do not use this bottle with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.

Label reside is super annoying but besides that I like the bottle.
UPDATE: After using the bottle for one day there are some things I have noticed about it. For some reason, the water does not seem to filter when the top of the bottle is closed. It sat on my desk for a few hours without filtering until I opened the top. I figured I should point this out.I just received the water bottle yesterday so this review may change in the future. The label is a real pain in the butt. It causes the whole bottle to be sticky which doesn't make me eat to use it. To get rid of that, I rubbed a little bit of vegetable oil and it came off for the most part. There is still a little sticky residue but it's better now.I soaked the filter per the instructions and so far I'm not experiencing any problems. One thing that caught me off guard was the actual drinking part. I thought it was a straw you suck through. Instead, you pour the bottle to drink. This isn't a problem, just something to be aware of. Also, I've turned the bottle upside down and around and I haven't had any leaking.Additionally, the water bottle doesn't hold that much after its filled. A lot of room is taken up by the filter. Since it's filtered through gravity, it does take some time to drink it. But that isn't a problem for me either.

Great Filtration Bottle
I was looking for a water filtration bottle that wasn't a big pitcher that can pour out without only drinking from the bottle. This has been the only one I had found that fit what I wanted it to do by filtering water and pourable. I specifically researched looking for a bottle that I can use to filter the water at work since I didn't trust the filtered water machines they had recently installed (I had seen specks in the work filtered water, odd taste, and teething pain after numerous technicians coming to the office). I picked the "clear" as I wanted to ensure the water was clean and not cloudy compared to the color ones. This water bottle did everything I wanted it to do. It is durable, light weight, and I can pour the water into a cup or drink directly from the bottle. The down side I find that can be a change would be to have an indicator on the replacement filters as I am unable to know when it needs to be changed. The bottle also needs to be opened in order for the water to filter down which is also something Thermos may look into a way to do this without the top being opened? The water filters down faster if the lids is off or not screwed on extra tight with the lid open. Otherwise, it these issues wasn't a dealer breaker for me and the five stars is because I have not found a product that fits all that I want and need from it until I bought this bottle. Thermos has a winner in this bottle.

I really liked this water bottle, but man, it did not take a hit.
I dropped it once and the lid cracked, thereby making it no longer air tight and thus spilling everywhere. The whole gravity filtration idea is great, though! It's really nice not having to burst a blood vessel sucking water through a carbon straw. I feel like it makes me drink water more consistently because of that too, since it's like having a regular cup sit next to you. I have had some of the carbon flakes people have mentioned in other reviews, but they're not a big deal to me. I just rinse out the bottle every day-ish and it's fine.Still worth a shot if you're in the market for a new water bottle, just be careful not to drop it?? It's not rugged, but it's nice as a "desk water bottle" for work or something.

Avoid older reviews
I read almost all of the reviews, especially the ones with 3 stars or less. I took all of their concerns into consideration and decided to give this bottle a go anyway. Thermos seems to have fixed many of the issues highlighted in many of the bad reviews. Label came off very easily and there is no grit at all from the filter. It’s not as heavy as I thought it would be. My only concern is it doesn’t specify whether or not it filters out lead; however, it’s labeled as NSF/ANSI 53, which I thought were graded for lead removal.

Love. As much as anyone can love a bottle.
I'm usually too lazy to leave reviews, but I am AMAZED and OBSESSED with this filtration bottle. I've always had an issue remembering to drink water, and water always tended to leave a scratchy and parched feeling in my throat unless it was cold. I also am very sensitive and always taste the chlorine in tap water so I was kind of at a loss. This filtration bottle makes water addicting. I love watching it filter, and I. Taste. Nothing. when I drink. Pure water!! NO after-taste at all. I am TRULY and deeply amazed. I'm finding that I drink water more often then I usually do solely bc this water feels and tastes better.I love that I can refill anywhere, and the secure cap calms down the germaphobe in me. I truly am amazed. I got myself to leave a review here. At 12:15 AM. That's how much I love this product.

One of the few filtration bottles I've found that doesn't [require] suck[ing]
Most of the filtration bottles out there required you to suck on them to get the filtered water out of the bottle. That doesn't work at all if you want filtered water for coffee or tea. The Thermos filtration bottle allows you to pour from the bottle into a glass or small tea kettle. I've bought two or three of these after leaving them on planes but am keeping a close eye on the one have now for when I start traveling again. I find it essential for cleaning up the smelly tap water in hotel rooms (essential in west Texas and some parts of Florida) for my morning coffee (0.5l electric tea pot + Aeropress). The one downside is that the amount of tiltered water created each pour is small, so you have to allow time for it to filter the more from the top chamber. If you follow the instructions, this will take forever. The quick way is to simply partly unscrew the top to let more air in. Don't forget to retighten it before putting in your backpack. I've seen it leak water on planes due to the air pressure change if not completely full (both upper and lower chamber. Air pressure in the upper chamber will force water out of the lower chamber as soon as the top is opened. Slightly unscrewing the top will let the pressure equalize and avoid a fountain. Retighten before pouring.Normally I'd take a star off for these minor hassles but I haven't found anything better. If readers have, please post what "suckless" alternative filtration bottles you've found.

El filtro no funciona
Después de probarlo por un par de semanas me deshice del filtro, pues tardaba una semana en filtrar el agua mínima posible (aunque tiene una capacidad de carga, con el filtro solo se permiten tener cerca de 200 ml filtrados).

Great for my purpose
Great for my purpose, how ever it is a little fragile... Lid broke after being dropped, how ever it still works fine
