Magpul Front Back-Up Sight - Black

I ordered this and the rear Magppul MBUS sight as a backup sighting system for my M&P 15. The sight is fairly rugged for being made out of polymer (a fancy way of saying plastic), and gives a good sight picture. It stays snug on the rail with no shift during recoil at all and flips up and locks in place securely. The one issue with this sight is being made out of polymer, it tells you not to mount it on the rail over the gas block at the front of the rifle. This is a problem because you either have to mount the front sight on the receiver rail which makes for a too short sight radius or you need a quad rail forend so you can mount the sight on the far end of the forend which gives a perfectly adequate sight radius. Since I already had a quad rail on my rifle, it wasn't an issue and the product merits five stars accordingly. However, if you have the standard forend, this might not be the front sight for you- I doubt the gas block would get hot enough to melt the sight but I wouldn't want to chance it. Magpul has gained a reputation for quality and this sight does nothing to lessen that perception.

Quick and easy installation on the front of my rail. Fired about 200 rounds through my AR the other day and the sights were accurate and easy to acquire targets through. The fact that they can flip up and down is helpful so you can leave the sight mounted and use a red dot sight or ACOG style and not worry about the sights getting in the way or getting snagged on anything while you carry your rifle. A quick press of the sight flips it up quick and in the exact position its supposed to be in. It comes with a front sight adjustment tool to adjust the height of the sight pin so it's unnecessary to purchase the separate one that Magpul makes which is nice to know considering I ordered them together. Overall it's a great addition to your tactical AR platform.

These sights are secure and never pop up. They are well built and are the only ones I will use on my M4 5.56. I will never buy iron back up sights again! They whore out after 10-15 shots and won't stay down after a little heat from the barrel. The Magpul sights, went 400 rounds and not a single problem. The front sight pin went way up to adjust for my uneven rails. Only complaint is that when the front sight is folded down, it needs a good bit of room. Solution, I mounted the front sight backwards and it works great. Solid fit and just all around great sights.

excellent poly front sight capable, lightweight and super durable I don't see how this could fail... adjustable but pricey its well work the money compared to some of the other high end competition

Love the sight works well and is built well just like the rear sight. Would buy this again all day, SPECIFIC FOR THE AR-15 platform and is near perfect as a back up sight. Only down side is it cannot go on the gas block and is hard to adjust.

The Back Up Sights(front and back) by MAGPUL are absolutely magnificent. They are very well constructed and sturdy. The flip up sights lay very flat so they do not interfere with the optics on my AR15, unlike other flip up/down back up sites. they also cowitness well with the optics when needed. By far one of the best additions to my Rifle(s). Buy with confidence as they are a welcome addition to your weapon.

Im sort of writing a mixed review on this one. It's a flip up front sight with Magpul quality. Pretty straight forward - 5 stars.However, the reason I paid $2 more for this specific one was because the picture shows a gen1 sight (w/ the emblem on top). The rear sight I've had for years is a gen1 and I wanted them to match. But, I received a gen2 or 3? It's probably a slightly better product than the gen1, but that doesn't matter because that's not what I wanted or thought I was ordering. Received product other than pictured - 1 star.When I average the two reviews, I come up with the 3 star review. I never thought I'd give a Magpul product less than a 4/5 star review, but it's not Magpuls fault, it's the seller in this instance.
