I received sight Model 5D-SH. Wrong sight. Can someone who got a sight that fit a Benjamin 392 without grinding it tell me the sight model number?

I, too, purchased and received this sight because it was advertised to fit all benjamin 392 pellet rifles. I have the latest version of the benjamin 392, just ordered from Amazon. You are CORRECT, it does not fit this rifle. They sent me model 5D  5H, #1418.  I see from the answers to your question that other people are not having a problem with it, but when installed in the current hole pattern is is off center by from the air tube by at least ⅛ inch. I am sending it back with photos.

No, this is specific to a Benjamin air rifle. Order for your specific application. Guaranteed they make one for your application, although you may need to drill and tap your receiver.  ???

I recently bought a benjamin 392.  I'm hearing mixed results in terms of this sight fitting/working on my rifle.  Will this sight work or not?

Unless you bought a brand new 392, disregard the following info. Your 392 does not have scope grooves since the barrel is too small to machine them in. The peep sight uses gripping 'talons' which would only work on a barrel with scope groves already cut in. 
You could look for scope mounting attachments for use on Crossman guns like yours. They have rounded bottom grips that are clamped over the barrel. Remember that that with these higher type mounts, raising the line of sight for a peep sight may cause you to run out of downward travel on the unit to accommodate a workable arrangement for the peep to be effective. You'll have to gamble on investing in a mounting system for the peep sight that works or use them to mount a scope instead.

will this sight fit on a benjamin model EB22 pistol? Any other side mount?

After looking at a picture of the EB22 it doesn't seem to have the mounting holes on the right sideof the breach, so I don't think it will fit.
