Red Lantern RUG-BR1779-4x6 Rug, 4 ft x 6 ft, Bamboo Tree

I bought this to replace a plastic floor protection mat. I'm a mechanical engineer so I knew the risk associate with rolling over a segmented wood product. This product made it 13 months before beginning to shatter under the load of the urethane wheels. It wasn't unexpected just a bit disappointing. If the underlying mesh and/or the bamboo had been a bit thicker (probably both) the slats would have held up another couple years or maybe much longer. It's still usable. However now I have to pick up the long wood shards expelled a few times a week so our automatic vacuum doesn't choke on them. Toby tends to stop working when he catches too much wood on a single pass. :).All tolled it still looks decent with only a few cleanable stains. and the border is durable but a bit hard to de-lint using only the robot vac. WE will move to a different type of natural rug design. Might still be bamboo with larger planks. The size is good for our larger 60" wide desks at the home office.

I feel like I got a lot for my money with this rug. It easily looks like it cost $50 or more. Even the smallest size is a little wider and deeper than your standard mat/rug from a brick and mortar store. The bamboo looks great and have already had a couple guests comments on it. The stitching seems solid and there are no stray or loose threads. The bottom of the mat also has a grip to it so you can use it on a hard floor. It's hard to find items like this just out and about around town so I'd definitely recommend grabbing this while you can. The one thing you need to keep in mind that this is strictly, "Decorative" like the description says. That means it's there just to look good. If you're used to walking in your front door and grinding dirt and grime off your shoes then this won't help you at all.

I needed two small rugs for the new couch and seats that I bought for my living room. I went out and purchased two small rugs from a local shopping mall that looked great.When I placed them right where I wanted them, I noticed that after short time, the rugs would buckle and the edges frayed.Worse yet, one of my closest friends unknowingly dropped the tip of her cigarette on the rug and it burned all the way through. I was really upset about that because they were really expensive for my budget.So, I had an idea...I used to live on the island of Oahu in our great state of Hawaii. I used to purchase bamboo mats that would sell at the local ABC store for just a buck (for laying on the beach or yoga). I also know for a fact that bamboo is naturally fire-retardant and are bug-free. So, I looked up 'bamboo mats' with Amazon I cam across these. I am so happy that I did!I was concerned that the dye on the mat would rub off on my carpet. Also, I was especially cautious because the bamboo may of been over-processed and would cause splinters. And, I worried about them sliding around and buckling. I thought that I really had nothing to loose--these mats are inexpensive and I can always return them.I got my two mats about a week later. They were nicely rolled up. Before putting them on the carpet, I poured hot water on one of them and let it rest with white paper towel to make sure that the color wouldn't bleed. It didn't.Also, I was really happy to find that the mats came with a rubber backing and little rubber 'studs' so, they didn't budge an inch. Also, I own a Rumba/IRobot, and my vacuum, had no problem going over them.P.S. I found out that the company also sells bamboo place mats. I bought four of them and love them. ALL bamboo products are fire-resistant, rinse-able, and can be used for indoor and outdoor purposes without the worry of mold.I know I must sound like a salesman, but I swear I am not. I just really saved myself a small fortune by buying the right mats at the right price.I hope my opinion was helpful.All the best toYou and Yours!

I have this in a high traffic area - I love the look. It is amazingly durable and easy to clean. I actually use my Swiffer wet jet to remove dirt. I took a star off for some minor imperfections in the stitching on the border. The bamboo work, however, is perfect.You can buy much cheaper bamboo rugs at places like Ross but not of this quality.

I love those bambou carpets. No heavy carpets to wash and dry. Just swiffer and wash with a wet cloth. I have one in my kitchen and one in my dinning room and a runner in foyer. Well made and sturdy. Love them.

***Update*** 8/31/2017Although I initially loved this rug, it does start to come apart for no other reason than by just walking on it. I would find myself being tripped and not knowing what I tripped on. Upon looking down, one of the wood strips would be sticking up with no way to put it back down because they are being held down with what appears to be masking tape.This was a great investment! I love this rug. I have it in my room and could not be happier! It gives a special touch to the décor of my room and fits perfectly with the color scheme I have going on.Original Review:The only I will say is that I expected the mocha to be darker, like what you see in the picture, but it's actually a lot lighter than that. This was a bit disappointing, but I quickly got over it, as I do enjoy the actual color of the rug as well. It looks more like a nice dark maroon red, or cherry oak. Either way, I'd still recommend this rug. It came on time, actually before it's due date with no issue.

I bought this to replace a wooden bamboo slat mat I had inside my front door. The old one lasted for many years, so I expect this one to be the same. Love it.
