I believe it is a "stick" tang. (I have not taken it apart.) I used it in a production of Camelot so it was used as a prop, which is probably the only really good use for it. This dagger looks like a mini version of what is being sold as Aragorn's sword, (from Lord of the Rings.) Since the director had no knowledge of blades at all, I slipped in these two items as a bit of an inside joke to people who would recognize it.So, if you want this as a prop, it's good. If you want it for something more, i would steer clear.
