Stiff Lock and/or Blade Play and/or Off Center Blade
Why a 2 star review? For $165+tax, you get an off center blade, stiff axis lock knife. The blade steel came with chip on the BLADE SPINE! And the G10 sclae Does not have traction like a syderco G10 scale. If I loosen up the pivot screw a bit, I have a bit smoother axis lock but I get blade play in return. And the blade off centering can’t be fix.The thing is worst than the standard mini grip that I got from the same seller NetRush. Not worth the upgrade, not worth the $165 price tag, look away.NetRush, please check your products before sending it out.

Like everyone else mentioned in prior reviews
Like everyone else mentioned in prior reviews, it is a sweet knife for any collector or for actual EDC. I had the standard 154cm and the steel on this does take some more time and muscle to sharpen, but once done it seems to hold that edge quite well. I also like the sheepsfoot blade as a slicer and the spidey-hole as it makes it easier to clean the knife since I do use it for food sometimes. The thumb stud on my old one got in the way when sharpening and particles would get stuck in there as well. The backing on the new one is also open as opposed to the closed backing in the standard knife. My first mini-grip took the brunt of my learning curve for whetstone sharpening which is why it looks like that :( The G10 handles with blue liner has a less clackey sound when flipping open than the standard handles and it definitely does feel heavier in hand as well. I liked this knife and design so much that I even decided to paint my walls in this color!

Great knife
Great size and blade length for EDC. Have this one and a M4 blade versions. This 20CV is sharper than the M4 but not as tough. BEWARE some seller on amazon voids Benchmade lifetime warranty covering parts, but you can still use there lifeSharp. NY Fasion LTD is not authorized seller, but NetRush is authorized seller

Fantastic upgrade from the original
Great knife, Ive been regularly edcing a normal mini grip for the past 6 years, so this is a nice upgrade. Overall feels more solid, and I feel this is how the original should have been. I had to exchange mine though because of a couple defective screws. The screws were not properly threading on. It must have been a one off. Overall I am very happy after receiving my replacement. If you are a fan of the mini griptilian, you will love this.

Pictures for you
This is an amazing knife. The 20CV steel is awesome, the edge is perfect. The last picture is an attempt at lining up the phone camera with a old RadioShack 60x pocket microscope, right on the knife's edge (after cutting some paper). The full edge is not polished, just a very thin apex is polished, but it is indeed sharp. No real need to strop out of the box, except for aesthetics. The sharpened edge is just a little bit shorter than the 2.91" blade length. The blade is perfectly centered with only space equal to the width of the washers on the pivot.I added more pictures because I personally would have appreciated more pictures than provided on the Amazon description.Update: I bought my knife from NetRush, registered it on Benchmade, and sent it in for warranty repair because the screw at the pivot had a fracture in it. Benchmade repaired the knife under warranty and touched up the knife edge. Thus, I can confirm that Benchmade will honor the warranty when the knife is purchased from NetRush.

Benchmade 555-1 Mini Griptillan.
Benchmade Knife 555-1 Mini Griptilian Satin Finish Sheepsfoot Style Blade Gray and Blue G10 Handle.Without real intent I have managed to acquire several Al Mar, SOG, Gerber, Cold Steel, Spyderco, a number of Victornox and Wenger Swiss Army knives and various others.Still, I don't consider myself a knife collector, just a guy who always carries a pocket knife. My loving wife gave this to me as a gift because it was something I would not buy for myself (the cost stopped me).OK, the knife:This is by far the best made knife I have.Fit and finish are superb. The modified sheepsfoot blade is perfectly centered with no play, wobble, burs, dings or extra tool marks. I have several "sailor's" knives with sheepsfoot blades and the modified shape on the Griptiiian solved the big one draw back to this design: the Bechmade design has a point of sorts that can pierce if needed. I also like this style of hole in the blade assisted opener over the studs, less to catch on things. I really like the feel of the G10 scales, and again, the fit and finish is perfect. The deep carry pocket clip is the greatest thing for daily carry; not to stiff, not to loose, the knife sits low and very unobtrusive but it is easy to get ahold of when you need it. The knife feels sturdy, substantial, but not too heavy for daily carry; once it is in the pocket you will forget it is there.I wish it had come sharper out-of-the-box but this not a defect, but a preference on my part.I highly recommend this knife and the cost of the upgrade over the standard Griptiiian if you appreciate the benefits of better steel, deep carry clip and the ergonomic up grades of G10 grips, overall construction. and weight.

Delivered timely
I like the size and weight of this knife. It is on the medium to small size thus making it great for when I want to wear shorts and not have the weight of the knife pull them down. The fit and finish is what I expected. I would buy this knife again.

It lives up to the hype...
Wow, this knife is fantastic! When compared to the original Mini Griptilian, Benchmade clearly listened to customer feedback and made all the necessary improvements to make a remarkable second generation knife. The G10 scales, body design, ergonomics, and quality are outstanding. I highly recommend it.
