Was actually unable to install.
So I bought this door, and the motor that moves it because we weren't positive that both were not in need of replacement. Door itself did NOT need to be replaced, and short of cutting it into pieces or tearing down the ENTIRE dashboard, COULD NOT BE INSTALLED. Old one does NOT have the removeable peg piece at the bottom, and so...

good alternative to fixing your a/c
was researching the problem i had with my 99 F150 for a while when i started my truck in a parked position my a/c would work fine nice and cold on any modes Low medium High but if my a/c was on low or medium once i started driving my a/c would blow hot but if i kept it on high max a/c it would blow cold regardless if the truck was moving but if i really got on the gas the a/c area behind the glove box would make a thump and immediately start blowing hot air so i would have to keep turning the a/c on and off until cold a/c would blow out. sometimes i would have to turn off and re start the truck for cold a/c to blow out and it would only work on high and max a/c while driving i gave my system a recharge which defiantly made the a/c colder but didn't solve the problem while driving i typed my problem into google and multiple people had the same problem finding out i had a busted blend door i think to have a dealership fix it for you it would run between $700 - $1000 because they would fix it the right way by removing the dash but a 1000 dollars is 1/5 of what i paid for my truck haha If you have a broken blend door this is the part you need the hardest part for me was removing the screw thats behind the floor vent that honestly took me like 2-3 hours trying to remove that one screw everything was easy i spent a total of 7 hours installing everything and putting everything back together but if it wasent for that one screw being so hard to get to my time would of probably been cut in half i watched a video on youtube shows you how to do everything step by step recommend this to anyone who has a broken blend door and be prepared to get frustrated on that screw behind the floor vent

Huge money saver!
I have an old F250 beater truck that just gets used for hauling on average maybe once a week. An early cold snap made me realize I wasn’t getting heat this season. There was no way I was going to pay $1000+ to fix the heat in a vehicle this high mileage and infrequently used. While the solution is a little bit redneck, it gets past the expensive and time consuming alternative of draining the radiator, evacuating the A/C and pulling apart the dashboard. A bit of surgery with a Dremel tool and a bunch of duct tape to put it together again saved a lot of money and only took a few hours to get the system fully functioning again. The part also feels more robust than the original (which was virtually crumbling in my hands) so I don’t think I’ll have to fix it ever again.I recommend watching a few videos of people replacing the actuator door to get a feel for how it’s done first, but when you know what you are doing it goes smoothly. One point I do disagree with the instructions is how to remove the floor vent. Instructions say pull out the round vacuum actuator on the left side, but that was a waste of time. I removed the black support rod to the right and pulled the piece out easily after struggling with it their way. Other than that the job went smoothly.I highly recommend this product.

METAL BLEND DOOR HINGE COMPONENT
BLEND DOOR METEL HINGE MAY BE A LITTLE LONG FOR THE ACTUATOR TO BOLT ON SNUG SO I SHAVED/GRINDED IT A LITTLE AND THE ACTUATOR JUST BOLTED RIGHT ON SNUG

Ah, yes... the wonderful A/C plenums in a 2002 F-150! But THANK YOU to the folks at Dorman - "the fix" worked great - AGAIN!
Great replacement part. This is the second time that I had to get my A/C back - on the same vehicle (Ford 2002 F150)! Decided that I was NOT going through the process of pulling the dash just get an air-door operating again! This job can be very time-consuming; cutting up your lower plenum for access to the Blend Door to replace the original door. If you have small-ish hands and lots of patience; you could possibly get your hand up where the old Blend Door is mounted - You MIGHT even be able to pop the replacement door out of its mounting points and NOT break the existing mounting points.Otherwise -and this is SPECIFICALLY for smaller-hands crowd-, just follow the instructions very carefully, and go slowly. If your work-gloves are all marked "XTRA LARGE"; I suggest you get to a decent auto-parts place for another pair of gloves. And a good-sized box of large Band-Aids. Trust me on this.Would I do this again? Well, if it was the only way to get cabin A/C back - yeah, I would. I grew up here in the middle of Nowhere, Arizona; and right now it's 73 degrees out and the temperature is only gonna get hotter. Probably gonna be roughly 100-110 degrees today.D*mn straight I'd do it again.

Two pieces
It is two pieces. I ordered on a gamble because half the reviews said it’s one piece. I purchased the 1 piece unit from the auto parts store and after hours of pain and exhaustion could not get it to fit. I got this piece installed in about a minute. It YouTube brought you here this is the piece. Don’t buy from the auto parts store because you’ll waste your time. This one is money!

FANTASTIC PART
My neighbor installed this for me following the video on Youtube. He was done in less than 2 hours! I now have heat again! Thanks Doorman for this part, and my awesome neighbor Devin for saving me $1200 in labor from Ford!

Direct fit
The blend door is well engineered, better than the original, install was about 3hrs but I didn't have to remove the dash. The instructions were pretty good but I viewed a dozen YouTube clips and took hints from each one before attacking the repair. The repair shop wanted 8hrs labour + parts = more than $1000.00, with the Doorman blend door, YouTube clips and patients cost $30.00.Very happy with the result. Have fun, cheers.
