Very flawed, but too much fun to return!
I wanted to return this within the firt three week, but it was a lot of fun even when it worked poorly. So far I am glad I kept it. I emailed Joola support but they never got back to me. I'll list my series of tweaks here hoping it will help someone else. Most importantly, I moved the robot off to the side of the table, and slightly above. No more return shots bouncing off the robot adding to your ball pickup. If you get the robot placed right, the oscillating mode will still land all balls on the table. I swept the basement area and ran a cloth with rubbing alcohol on the two rollers. The machine did start to send the balls back more consistently after that. The machine still flubs about 1 in 20 shots but that is acceptable to me. The A/C adaptor is very fussy at the end which plugs into the robot. Sometimes I'll have to wiggle it or plug it in 3 times to get the remote to turn on. I just leave it plugged in all the time now. It was jamming a lot at first, but once you realize what causes the jam, it's easy to avoid. Make sure the hole in the spinning disc in the hopper is not directly above the hole that drops the ball down into the lower portion of the machine. If balls are caught in the lower portion of the machine, you should be able to remove them through the exit hole once your fingers get some practice. There really is no useful manual that came with this and none I could find one on Joola's website. The top/back spin settings work best for me with top spin all the way up, and back spin at about half. Over all the top/back spin performance is a dissapointment. Here are some ball pick up suggestions. I have the return net ($50), which is a must. I ended up putting the bucket up on a box. When the bucket was on the ground, a lot of balls would miss the bucket. I also have a pole net pickup tool which is another must($20). It saves you from bending over to pick up stray balls. I put double stick tape on the remote and carefully ran the cable along the edge of the table and it manages to save a few net shots from rolling off the table. I strategicly placed items around hard to reach areas of the basement walls so stray balls do not end up there any more. This "robot" has a LOT of room for improvement, but it is still a LOT of fun!

Tips to make it workable
I would say it is just ok. I guess you get what you pay for. One of the things that was really frustrating me at the beginning was the ball kept jamming or it would shoot out multiple balls. After playing around with the controls and taking a look at the inside workings, I found a few tips that seemed to help: (1) The oscillation just messes it up, so best not to use it ... keep it off (2) If the Topspin dial is turned all the way up you still need to have a little bit of back spin ... if the back spin is turned off this will cause jamming or multiple balls. And vice-versa if the Backspin dial is turned all the way up you still need to have a little bit of topspin ... if the topspin is turned off this will cause jamming or multiple balls. (3) You can easily build something out of cardboard to attach to the top so it can hold almost 200 balls (No complaints about the "iPong Balls 100 Count - Orange" ... they seem to do the job) (4) A ball catcher net is a must ... I bought the "JOOLA Carbon Fiber Compact Edition Ball Catch Table Tennis Net" and it works great. (5) The tip from Tom Z to help the last few balls to drop and not keep spinning was great. (6) This last tip I found on another website (megaspin) review: "I noticed that the little plastic ramp the balls must roll down to be fed into the spinning wheels was not as solid as it could be. Pressure from the balls above may sometimes move the ramp and the ball at the bottom just prior to ejection, changing the ball's trajectory. So I decided to jam some cardboard between the ramp and the side of the robot to keep it stable, at least in the horizontal plane."After these tips/mods, the robot seems workable ... there is still the occasional inconsistent speed or angle ... but I guess I can live with it for now, till I can afford a better quality robot.

Okay product for this price, needs a lot of improvements
The media could not be loaded. Used this for some time and have its first review ready:1. Appearance and durability: It is totally plastic and comes in 3 separate parts. knobs that joins there 3 parts are fragile and can break at any time, if broken, it is useless. You can break it during assembly if you are not careful. Those knobs should be re-designed and bottom part which goes right above table, should have some sort of cushioning otherwise it certainly damages/scratches table. I am already seeing deep scratches in my new table.2. Functionality: It generally works good if you know how to operate it. It is bit frustrating in the beginning.(I have videos of each scenarios that I explain here and will upload them but Unfortulately, it does not allow me to upload multiple videos per review)a. If you don't want spins(back spin or top spin) and only simple balls, it does not throw any balls. Keeps running but no all comes out from that hole. Totally useless.b. In some setitng ( I can reproduce this any number of times you want, if you want to improve your product), it throws multiple balls at a time.c. In Occilation mode, it throws balls out from table.d. Force not enough like real play. So, only useful for beginners, not for PRO as it advertises.

Motor not functioning, need to use iPong for rehab for my forearm injury
This machine can be a lot of fun when it is working. I do not have problems with balls jamming, the product has been improved. Unfortunately, the motor is not working when I need it the most. I have trouble at the beginning when half of the balls were either hitting the net or rolling off the table. After a friend helped me to adjust the robot, it was fine for my top spins. I did not use it much until recently when I broke my forearm. After surgery, my doctor encouraged me to resume playing ping pong, so I wanted to practice at home with the speed I can handle. All went well for a week. The motor chose this time to give up. There is electricity as the light on the remote control lit up. The motor would attempt to start up but could not complete half a rotation. I found the troubleshooting guide at Amazon but those were not my reason for the motor not functioning. I hope the manufacturer can help with fixing this for me, as it can be very useful for my rehab while getting some fun as well. If anyone has tips to get it working again, please advise.Thanks.

I like it, but sometimes it sticks and I have to move the balls around to make it move again. That’s annoying. When it’s not sticking it’s fun to use.

Simple tweak now works as advertised
I was originally disappointed. Like other people said the ball launch was inconsistent and jammed frequently. The weak point is the plastic ball ramp. The pressure off the balls above and the spinning wheels seems to twist the ramp enough to change the shot angle. I squeezed in a piece of cardboard between the ramp and the side in line with the wheels now the ball launch is consistent without jamming.
