Worked very well for making neck coolers to pass out at the protests. They got fat and stayed cool for people to wear and cool off while out protesting. I have not used this in soil, so I can only attest to the fact that they expand very well and stay that way until they are laid out to dry. The quality is excellent.

This stuff is a must have for window boxes and hanging plants in full sun or windy areas. Crystals absorb the water so your plants can stay watered longer.

I use this when I plant things in my border after the temps warm up. We don’t get rain after May till Fall and this is very helpful. A little goes a long way. I put some in bucket and fill with some water. Then I use a handful in the planting hole. It keeps roots dampWhile rooting

The plants loved them. Was away from home for two weeks and when I got back, not only were the plants still thriving but there was also water left in most of the bottles. I would recommend this to those that travel. One word of caution is to make sure that the holes in the nozzles are open and free of dirt. I used the end of a wooden spoon to make the initial hole and let the nozzle and water do the rest. Again, excellent.

I use it all the time for my planters

I’ve used this product for several years. I put a small amount around the roots of all my plants. I believe it helps aerate the roots and lets the plants absorb the fertilizer in the soil.I was glad to find this product on Amazon as the big box stores don’t seem to carry it any longer. Be sure not to use to much because it will push your plant out of the pot. Each small grain of this product will increase in size to about the size of a dime. It is amazing how much water each granule will absorb. Really reduces how often you have to water your plants. I highly recommend this product .

I’ve been using this along with the mats for my coco planters and regular high quality fertilizer. I live in the Idaho high desert-it gets hot, but it’s not Vegas or Palm Springs hot. My backyard planters do not have drip lines in them, and they’ve been gorgeous all summer!Is that I have used these crystals, I won’t go back. It’s July 29th today, and I planted my annuals in early April. Usually by early July, I have dry and crunchy, if not dead plants. This year, even after being out of town a lot and with record breaking heat, my flowers look great!I also use this in any of my pots that I plant annuals in, and I dint hbd the late afternoon wilting I used to have on 100+ days when I didn’t add the crystals.I’ve been out of town for about three weeks total this summer-in 100+ degree weather. I depended on a family member to water my potted plants, and that usually results in dry or dead plants when I come back. My plants look amazing!This is a must have for small containers!
