Pentair 160315 Clean & Clear Fiberglass Reinforced Polypropylene Tank Cartridge Pool Filter, 75 Square Feet, 75 GPM (Residential)

Replaced a smaller version (100) with this. Works great only problem is the input is at the top on this model and I couldn't see that on the photo. We had to get new PVC to make it work. Otherwise great and came with a filter cartridge.

I had this exact model before. It was 12 years old, sprung a leak, so I ordered another thinking I could switch out one for the other.The black connection sleeve had cracked threads and leaked. The pressure valve didn't register any pressure. The release valve was cross threaded and made it non-functional. I hired a pool man and he said, "Send it back". I said please fix it. He did. I am now $95.00 poorer. I still do not have a pressure valve. The filter is a good model but I am disatisfied.

We are using this for our drinking water. We get our water from a spring and like it to go thru the filter system. It helps to keep dirt and particles from coming to our house.

I bought this tank as a replacement for the exact same model that came with my pool. I used the original for 13 years without a problem and have been the sole caretaker for my pool since its installation so I know how this is supposed to work. Turn off the pump, open the valve, wait for the water pressure to subside , remove the ring, remove the filter, clean it and reverse. It's not rocket science. From Day 1, the new filter was difficult to open and close; if the canisters weren't lined up just right then the ring wouldn't go on properly. The outer sealing ring easily gets stuck even if the threads are completely lined up and when that happens it takes two people to get it back off so that it can be repositioned to try again. You have to squeeze and turn the ring at the same and when you're using all your strength to get it to move, that's a tall order. At one point I had to use duck tape to squeeze the handle and use a rubber mallet to just to loosen the ring! You have to basically have your arms around the tank to remove the ring so I have a constant bruise on the inside of my arm from where the valve smacks me during my efforts.I'm now into my second summer of using the canister/filter and the lid has become impossible for me to remove so I can no longer take care of the pool by myself. Even my husband has difficulty getting the thing off. After researching this issue I've found that a lot of other people have had the same problem. I don't know what the issue is but there's definitely a problem here that Pentair should address. The filter does a superior job once you get it running, but opening and closing it is something I dread more than a visit to the dentist. I wouldn't recommend this product for a new pool installation but I'm stuck with it for now. If there's a way to resolve this, I'd love to hear it.

I got this filter system to replace my old system. It has a nice, easy to read gauge. The pressure reliefvalve is big and easy to turn before opening the filter. The retaining ring that holds the top of thefilter on has a couple of quick release locks and only 1-2 turns of the ring to open it up. Once you'vehosed off the cartridge and put things back together, it locks down easily. Everything is much easierto operate than my old system.

The picture makes it look like it is 4 ft tall but according to the specifications height it reads that it is only 25.5 in. This is very misleading for customers.
