Update #2. I found the failure in this supply. Its is a tiny 8 pin smd chip blown to bits next to the fan wire connector. It seems to be a buck conv. switcher for the usb port and fan ckt. Since the top of the chip is blown off, i can’t id it to replace it. I may buy another unit to A: get the chip number to fix it, and B: to always have a Spare supply. I liked the supply. It just blew up on power on one day. It seemed to work well until that day. Any electronics can blow up. Most things blow up on power up. I may just leave it on all the time.Update. I have not used this ps in a month. I turned it on today and it snapped and a puff of smoke came out. Now the usb port is dead and the fan doesn't work. I guess it was too good to be true.I have finally had an opportunity to check this supply output against a calibrated DMM. It is amazingly accurate. The voltage was within .01 volts. I set the supply to 13.80 vdc on its display and both a fluke and a Simpson bench DMM read 13.81 vdc. The current is pretty close as well. Not as close as the voltage, but well within 2 or 3%. I have used this supply with no issues, but I admit I have not checked it’s ripple or waveform on an o’ scope. I have used it on several projects now without an issue. I will take a closet look and do a follow up when I can. I also find the USB port on the front panel to be very handy. So far I am satisfied with the supply.

I'm a retired electronics engineer of 37 years and have been using bench supplies in research and development during that time.This bench supply is a quality product well worth the money. Some reviewers pick on the accuracy, but in research and development we always used calibrated volt meters when high accuracy was required. The accuracy of the display on this unit is just fine when high accuracy isn't needed.I find it easy to adjust the output for both voltage and current. The course and fine knobs are smooth and free of jitter.The current and voltage limits both work flawlessly.I use both constant voltage and constant current in approximately 70 degree Fahrenheit for several days non-stop and the supply performs as it should, the fan apparently isn't needed even though I max out the output power.I recommend this supply for research and development where programmability is not needed.

When I bought this I wondered what "higher-precision" in the product headline meant. Here it is. A quick out-of-the-box test with my Fluke DMM revealed that the unit consistently reads about 0.02V higher than what it is generating. I didn't check constant current mode, since I don't have an accurate load for a precise measurement. That said, although a 0.02V offset isn't terrible, it would have been better if the seller/manufacturer was more forthcoming in their product description. I probably still would have purchased this supply. After all, it's for a home setup, and you get what you pay for; the price is reasonable.

Not sure what load they advertise for its ratings... It seemed to struggle with less than 500 ohms to come close to rated values and I loaded it down to 8 ohms where it was reading 32 or so volts while my load resistor for loading audio amps at a 100-watt rating was smoking after about 1 min. the supply was not warm at all.For the price...I am happy and at lower loads, it seems to track and limit ok.

This device is great!!! This DC power supply is an awesome value for the money. I brought this for fixing my laptop & a bunch of other things!!! It works great and comes with spare set of leads....nice bonus!!! The LED display shows the voltage setting and the current or amperage very clearly!! Therefore, this definitely helped me to find the problem with my laptop with the amperage reading. It also has a USB port for DC output. Works great for what I need!!! Great Device!!!!

I use this in classroom demonstrations to power circuits, usually in the 12 to 16 volt range and up to 10 amps. I found that it is accurate according to my Fluke meter, very easy to adjust, and the watts readout is a nice bonus.I particularly like the fact that it holds the volts reading that is dialed in after the unit is shut off and restarted.

Just got it so my review is just on what I see. It was very well packed. It seems to be well built. The case is metal and it is light. The knobs are a nice size and easy to turn and adjust the levels. The cords are heavy duty and the cables are good quality. I turned it on and it lit up nicely. Haven’t used it much yet as I am waiting for my supplies to test it. However, from what I’ve tried so far, I’m happy

To not repeat all reoccurring review statements. I’ll mention only a bit about the accuracy and dialability of the voltage and amp values.First off, I was able to set the Voltage to a minimum of 0.10V after a few attempts. Any attempt to go lower resulted the value to go straight to 0.00V.I was able to get the max amps of 10.15A-10.20A set when the voltage was first set to a min of 0.85V. (You then have to touch the two leads together to be able to adjust the amps. At 0.85V-1.00V you will have no issues with sparks when touching the leads. I tried hard. No sparks. Even at max amps.)I noticed that the fine adjustment knob is having a relative range to change the value based on the value set by the coarse knob. At 1.00V there was hardly any fine adjustment possible (Maybe a range of 0.03V difference.) At appr. 0.40V the knob was no longer making any fine adjustments. You will have to make all fine adjustments with the coarse knob. It’s not going to be easy if you don’t have steady hands and good fine motor skills. As an artist it was not too hard for me. But it’s an ever so slight adjustment. Almost just a thought while holding the knob.On the upper voltage values the fine adjustment knob can easily have a range of 0.30V and more.The amp fine adjustment knob was easier to adjust to low values.Another fact is, that when changing the voltage value quickly by bigger amounts the value can change only at a max speed of a few volts per second. A quite slow adjustment time.When coming from 30V, it will take you probably 20 to 25 seconds to get to 0.00V.Patience is a good virtue.When turning of the power switch in the back it first runs down the voltage value to 0.00V before it gets to the shut down process.When shutting the power switch off while at 0.00V, it took another appr. 9 seconds for the unit to power down.All in all it does what it’s supposed to.Just don’t expect fast processes and quick adjustments on the fly.*** I found: When I work WITH the device and respect its limitation, and not expect the device to work MY WAY (if different), I become more creative and figure out still many ways to make things work with it as is. ***The banana plugs are tight and the knobs are a bit stiff (not too much), which feels good for fine adjustments.The metal casing feels sturdy and of good quality.The leads are very basic. You’d do yourself a favour to buy better ones. The current values also slightly fluctuate when wiggling the cables while in operation. But very minor. I noticed they get easily warm.The power cord feels of good quality too and has decent flexibility.The fan is decently quiet and doesn’t come on until a certain temperature is reached. I believe it is 50'C.No OverCurrentProtection. It’s a basic unit.But delivers within its basic features.

Producto con rastro de uso, rayado, si solo fueran los rayones, pero sirviera estaría aceptable. lo peor es que no sirve con cambios de voltaje errático, cambio de amperaje inservible.Debe de haber una política donde multen al vendedor por mandar un producto usado o en mal estado, cuando en la pagina dice que es nuevo, a mi por la irresponsabilidad del vendedor perdí varios trabajos de reparación y eso quien me lo devuelve a mi, perdí tiempo en que llegara el producto, perdí tiempo en la devolución del producto y perdí tiempo en la devolución de mi dinero.

You have to unplug the device or use a power switch.Very slow power off - you have high voltage for about 30-60 seconds under no load after switching off or disconnecting power.My fuse blew after 2 weeks of use using reasonable voltages and power. Then when everything was disconnected except the power cable and voltage and current was set to zero, the unit immediately blew the second fuse as soon as it was plugged in. Must have somehow been defective.

Voltage and current output not accurate. Tedious to dial in values. Outputs remain live for some time after powering down unit.
