.com The SP Systems 42 psi industrial acid compression sprayer is built with all acid-resistant components--plastic and rubber compounds, plastic parts, and durable PVC wand--and is capable of spraying hydrochloric, muriatic and phosphoric acids for jobs such as staining or etching concrete and dissolving rust on metal surfaces. It includes two 80-degree nozzles with fanning capabilities, 59-inches of industrial hose, an industrial grade spray pistol, and a 42 psi safety relief valve to prevent over pressurization of the tank. The 42 psi industrial acid compression sprayer also features a 12-inch internal pump chamber that builds up pressure faster with fewer strokes and sprays continuously for 10 minutes after a single pumping session. It also has a high-density polyethylene tank with UV inhibitors and high-grade Viton seals, industrial spray pistol with on/off lock, plastic pump handle, wand storage clip, and lid carrying handle. A 4-1/2-inch funnel opening makes for easy filling, and the tank drains from the bottom, allowing it to be swiftly emptied completely. It is backed by a six-month limited manufacturer's warranty. From the Manufacturer The Industrial Construction line has been expressly built to handle the aggressive chemicals and rugged field conditions of the construction industry. All units feature specially formulated high-grade Viton seals throughout. Our Acid sprayers effectively apply acid-based etching and cleaning materials. The Construction line is recommended for building and construction, industrial/ janitorial applications and industrial cleaning. The SP20A Acid Sprayer is the first industrial sprayers expressly designed for acids - using new acid-resistant plastic and rubber compounds, plastic parts, and a PVC wand. We have built a sprayer that is not affected by muriatic (hydrochloric) acid, hydrofluoric acid, or phosphoric acids. That means it can be used over and over for jobs like staining or etching concrete and masonry, dissolving rust or scale on metal surfaces, cleaning, degreasing, and more. As an extra safety measure, the sprayer comes standard with a pressure relief valve that activates at 42 psi to prevent overpressurization and to hand-release any pressure remaining in the tank after use. The SP Acid Sprayers feature the best-engineered pumping system available, spraying continuously for 10 minutes after a single pumping session. The 12" pump tube builds pressure faster with fewer strokes. The high-density polyethylene tanks with UV inhibitors are more durable than steel. The units also feature an industrial spray pistol with a spray lock position to allow the user to release the trigger while spraying. The hose drains from the bottom of the tank, allowing the contents to be completely emptied and eliminating the need for a siphon hose.

Didn't last through 6 gallons of Acid Stain
A waste of $100+ dollars.I did a lot of research on sprayers when we were planning to stain our backyard concrete. I already had a $20.00 sprayer I bought at the Home Improvement store a few years ago that was all plastic which I use for bug spray. I wanted to make sure this project went well so I choose the highly recommended SP sprayer instead of using that.I even saw some YouTube videos of concrete stain pros who suggested this sprayer as I was researching how to do this.I used Kemiko stain diluted 50% / 50% water / stain as directed. 1500 sq. ft of concrete. The sprayer is nice in that it is:- Large Capacity- Has a long pump for maximum pressure.- Has a Pressure releaseIt is a Lousy product in that it did not last..I sprayed for about 2 hours the first day. 3 fill-ups of stain/water mixture. I have old concrete so as it turns out the stain was not taking hold well so I had to spray and puddle much more that I had anticipated. The pattern when you had a lot of pressure in the sprayer, was nice and fine using the RED tip. So that was great.Rinsed with water. Sprayed till clear and stashed the sprayer in the shed.I came back 5 days later (I was doing this on weekends) and started to fill the sprayer when I noticed that the O ring at the top was getting already loose on the pump, stretched out. The first sign of trouble...I removed it and just screwed the top on tighter and proceeded to spray some more Acid Stain. It was about 75 degrees out. Sprayed for about 2 hours, 3 fill ups. Set it down and went and had lunch and a beer.Came back after lunch to fill up and noticed the wand was limper than I recalled.. sorta sagging a bit. I thought it had been sitting in the hot sun and got a bit soft. I filled up and sprayed another 1/2 hour or so. Rinsed and stashed the sprayer and laid the rather limp wand down thinking.. it was still usable and maybe it would stiffen back up in the cool of the shed.7 days later after a work trip I came back to work on this. I went out in the early morning to spray the second coat and then seal. When I picked up the sprayer from the shed, the wand was completely limp, almot like rubber hose and I could see it had split open at the top joint.Frustrated? yes... I pulled the wand out of the joint and inspected it. I cut off the broken end and shoved the rubber washer and the hose back in and pressurized. Taped it up until it didn't leak, which took a LOT of tape. I tried spraying like that but had no control of the wand whatsoever,. It was like a wet noodle...Then I took a metal plant stake about 2 feet long, zip tied it to the now limp wand in 4 or 5 places, and held the wand out like that.It worked for a few minutes then started dripping at the tape...I tossed the POS into the shed and went to HD and bought a $20.00 sprayer like mine that was all plastic, and finished the job with that. 3 more gallons and then 5 gallons of the sealer the next day... It did not have the nice fine mist of the SP but it did finish the job.I tried to file a return but I was out of the window.

Works GREAT, Overkill?
I purchased this sprayer for staining my patio. I am completely satisfied with the product, but if you are only doing a small patio and not doing it for a profession, save some money and get a cheap plastic one like from a home improvement store. I used this sprayer and a $20 one gallon pesticide sprayer from a home improvement center. I liked the spray pattern on the SP20A which put out a finer spray that the other, but for staining, one rarely needs the accuracy. I also used a squirt bottle to put a mist on areas that were too light, and that worked great also.As a reference, I completed my raised concrete/steel patio that is approximately 530 square feet. I used full strength in the cheap sprayer and squirt bottle (believe it was 25% muratic acid) as well as diluted. Both the SP20A and the cheap $20 sprayers are good for the rest of the walkways and drive ways. The squirt bottle did very well and could do more, but they normally don't last very long with even water, so I am reserving judgment on its comparison.

Leaks Where Pump Screws Into the Cannister
Our company used this product only once. We spray muriatic acid on surfaces before pressure washing. Our tech was spraying & LOVING this new pump until he felt a burning sensation on his back where the acid had leaked out. We haven't not been able use this product since which is a shame considering the amount we paid for it. Acid destroys every pump we buy from the average hardware store & even pressure washing dealers. We really should have returned the product promptly but I mistakenly assumed our techs would have time to repair it. The pump has sat in our shop for nearly a year, so I'm not going to bother asking for an exchange or refund at this point. I just thought I'd let other shoppers know it seems to lack in quality, and it could be hazardous if the chemicals in it were toxic. Fortunately, our tech was not seriously injured & their trucks are equipped with baking soda to neutralize the acid is cases like this.

Dependable
In my opinion, SP Systems makes the best sprayers on the market. Good materials, solid construction. this is the second acid sprayer I have owned - the first was purchased 10 years ago and finally became worn out, despite my repairs - SP Systems repair parts are good too. I noticed evolutionary improvements on the new sprayer that I had often thought were appropriate.
