Do they help with arthritic thumbs?

Using them has been helpful - the compression is comforting and it helps reduce my thumb range of motion. I am less distracted during the day by my discomfort — so yes it provides comfort and some relief

Will hand lotion or pain relief cream damage these gloves?

I don't think it will damage it, but it will wear out sooner than later. It will basically decrease/reduce the life expectancy of the gloves.

How can I determine the correct fit? I bought a med & lg size, and don't want to cut off circulation.

Use a regular ruler and put it across the palm of your hand. Measure from one side to the other side of your hand. Then use the chart that's provided. I'm 3 1/2 inches across I use medium size. They're very comfortable.

Both Copper Fit and Dr. Frederick’s Original Copper comfort Arthritis Gloves are made in China. The Copper Fit are a thicker gauge nylon copper infused weave stretch fabric. Both are comfortable. Copper Fit open finger s/m is loose if you have small hands. The Dr Frederick’s small fits me better but does not say it’s anti microbial; the Copper Fit states its anti microbial on the box.
