Helpful. Practical. Informative Using this book for my Kitchen Design and Build class. It is easy to read, follow, and it explains things well. It is helpful for understanding the foundations and creating sustainable design and building plans.

Took care of my handicapped father (as promised) after becoming handicapped from a stroke. Caring for him in a "traditionally" build house was not easy, actually it was a nightmare. One doesn't think of these things when they are young and healthy, but wait until life slap you with health problems, then dealing with it's short comings become a daily battle. Now intend to move and build my "last" aging friendly home (society has changed, caring for aging family is too much work). Will use the info in this book to help keep from making mistakes that that might not be easily overcome. It is a "small" book, but the info is essential for planning purposes. Additional observation: The handicapped showers as configured in this book are too small considering when one may need help while showering. Having a handicapped shower that will accommodate 2 people, one seated and the other standing (CNA) makes the task easier. Even after having some surgeries and you want to recuperate at home with home care (i.e., not a permanent disability) having a real water bath vrs. a "bed bath" (YUCK) is a luxury.

This book is well written and an easy to use source for accessible design.

EXCELLENT book. I am drawing up a basic floorplan for a future a accessible home for us. This book has all the allowances listed for both standard and accessible applications for both kitchen and bath design. It has been amazingly helpful. Yes, you can "google" the info as I was before getting this book....but that is quite time consuming. The book is fairly small but has ALL the info you'll need for your kitchen and/or bath planning packed into it. Highly recommend this book!

Amazing book! It’s small just 77 pages BUT packed with IMPORTANT INFORMATION, no fillers, nothing but exceptional and very useful information, every single page has pretty images to explain (or that refer) to every single concept and explanation making it even easier to understand, definitely a must have in your collection!

Good info but arrived smelling bad. Months later even after spraying it still smells bad. Like cat pee or something.

Needed this for school. Gives you measurements,clearances for washrooms when designing. Book is compact.

I am in the process to build a new home, this guide has been very important in order to understand the Architects' decisions, speak their language and, of course, made my point when I see something I do not like, even at the construction site.

Essential for any designer. Commit to memory. Guidelines and not rules...sometimes you have to show a customer a reason why the aisle is as "wide" as it is...they then come around to the sensible understanding.

All the information you need. I’m an interior design student and it has helped me on so many projects.
