Bath Sealant Strip - 11 Ft Self-Adhesive Caulk Tape | Includes A Sealing Tool for Neat Application on Kitchen, Bathroom, Toilet And Wall Corners, Helping Block Gaps And Moisture.

Before using this I had already ensured a good water seal around the bath using silicone bath sealant, making sure that the surface of the sealant was level with the top bath edge. This tape was intended to be an additional layer of leak protection plus a cosmetic smart finish. The first impression was that the strip was softer snd more flexible than expected. Although there is a thiner line along the middle dividing the horizontal and vertical sections it was easy to bend the stip off line. In order to get the strip to bend where intended it was necessary to completely remove the backing paper and then use the plastic tool provided to work along the tape pushing the thinner "hinge" section into the corner before thinking about a good adhesion to the bath and tiles. Once a good technique was established it was easy and quick to get a good result. The strip was needed for both the back and each end of the bath so two 90 degree corners were needed. The instruction leaflet suggests cutting a "v" in the horizontal section and then bending the vertical section into the corner. I did not find this very successful as it was close to impossible to get the bend sharp enough to get right into the corner. As there was always going to be a join in the horizontal I thought it easier to cut the strip to length and join both horizontal and vertical. That worked really well and by putting a small line of silicone on the joint edge it ensured a good water seal. Oce installed the strip was soft enough to push into the slight indentations between tiles and after a month of showers and baths it has stayed firmly in place. No idea how long it will last but it was so cheap and easy to use I have no problem with ordering again if it needs replacing for any reason.

I used this to renovate a 15 year old power shower cubicle which had started to look a bit mucky and to leak in odd places, particularly when son stands under it for 10 minutes at full power. It is essential that all traces of dust, dirt, grease, and soap and hard water stains are removed if you want to get 100% adhesion. The surface should also be bone dry. My wife's hairdryer might have helped but the use of electrical equipment in a bathroom is not consistent with UK electricity regulations. You need to line it up carefully and stick down firmly. I used a wallpaper edge/join roller for extra pressure. All leaks have gone. Seal is 100% effective. Of course it will be critical to assess performance in 5 years time but I suppose I could always just replace it. As others have commented the accurate fixing of the seal would be so much easier if the backing strip was in two sections with a break at the join. That would allow easier alignment and ultimately firmer fixing. Worth the money. Can be done by careful DIYer.

Gives a nice neat finish to the edging, also easy to bend flexibly into an arch/semi-circle edge, probably because it is not too thick. The adhesion could be a bit better, can be achieved by using a good plastic glue, else it can start coming off after a few hours. Certainly a good product to achieve a neat finish with plywood edging as well where use of nails/screws is undesirable.

Easy to use after initial practice, sticks well initially but will peel off after a month or so. Easy to clean, seal well initially, make seals look good.

I am so happy I found this. My corner bath panel has had cracks in it for so long. I was going to buy a new one but then I saw this and I thought I might as well have a go of covering the cracks myself. See the photo for the result I'm so pleased with it. Honestly thought it would be so hard to do with a corner bath panel but I managed it and I have no DIY skills.

I ha e purchased this item 5 times over the last 1.5 years. Sadly everytime I our Hase it the quality of the item is thinner and thinner. Yesterday (07/12/22) I received the order and was dismayed at how light the box felt. After cutting down the middle seam a little I was able to tear my with my bare hands. This has never been the case. The adhesive party is also very different from when I first purchased. Sadly it seems like so many things - the quality is declining.... However it has done the job in the bathroom which was to seal a gap between the base board and the bath panel as there's movement in my floor as a gap has been created between the two where cold air was coming in. I heated the adhesive and applied between the two to seal off the gap and cold air from coming in and losing heating in the bathroom. I honestly don't know if I would buy this item again as it's so thin now..shame because it's a useful product.

I wanted to use this on interior of a double glazed window ledge, basically horizontally between the base of the window frame and windowsill. Given that mine was only for one straight line, I dread to think what it would be like trying to get corners married up? I'd probably end up with about 3 metres of off-cuts and another unfinished job. Whilst the quality of the product seems okay, I'm guessing there's some sort of tradesperson's knack to applying it. I just couldn't get it to apply and stay level. So frustrating when it appears like a 5 year old could apply it when you see the videos etc. So, maybe it's not a "bad product" per se, but I'm now of the conlcusion you've got to be some sort of demon DIY person (which I'm clearly not) to get it applied so that it's asthetically pleasing to the eye and not cut too short and full of creases etc.

Good adhesive does the job

Helped me seal up a large gap around my camper toilet. Went on easy and stretched in the areas where it needed to stretch. Has stayed firmly attached these last 6 months.

Erstmal sieht das echt unmöglich aus, zweitens ist es knifflig anzubringen und drittens löst es sich direkt wieder. Ich wollte damit die Lücken zwischen meinem Küchenwaschbecken und der Arbeitsplatte schließen. Wärme und womöglich etwas Wasser sollte das schon abkönnen. Wie gesagt hat es aber eh nur ein paar Tage gehalten, ohne „Härtetest“.
