950 pro..... Love this card. Installed it on my Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 compatible with 950 pro NVME. Bought the card set the jumper to m.2 ssd , installed my 950 PRO 256g NVME onto my 990fx board. Installed windows 7 goto where you need a driver hit F6 to load driver ( I pre-installed my driver from a website after using search "950 pro window 7 drivers" scanned with virus protection...clean.... and 7zip to unzip it. burn it to disk because my UEFI bios is finicky with usb flash drives. switched out my windows 7 disk with the driver disk hit load drivers and browse to file that sayd 64... install...... ALSO HIT ""REFRESH"" AFTER INSTALLING DRIVERS. Once the drive is found , **IMPORTANT** reinsert windows 7 disk. finish install.. It's fast but not crazy over the top fast and a waste of money with PCIE 2.0. I bought this drive for a Z170 build and said what the hell lets try it.

Great product for owners of Z97 motherboards
After I bought Samsung 950 SSD I used m.2 connector on Z97 motherboard and could not understand why max read/write speed was 1/3 of max. Eventually I learned that most Z97 motherboards, including Asus Z97-Pro do not allocate enough PCI-E lanes to the connector. Once I moved SSD to this card max read-write speed reached expected level (2500/1500) in Samsung Magician benchmark. I think everything feels slightly faster in Windows but it is obviously not scientific.Card I received was already set for m.2 configuration so I did not have to do anything with a jumper. FYI Asus Hyper kit (other setting for this jumper) converts m.2 connector into u2 connector that is used in some enterprise SSDs.I suspect that this card would be useful even for owners of Z170 and X99 motherboards as the SSD gets much better airflow and cooling than being on the bottom, below video card and 10G network card (in my case). This should reduce the possibility of thermal throttling at the cost of taking extra x4/x8/x16 PCI-E slot. The only regret I have is that I did not buy it earlier.

Works with Z97 running Linux, sort of. Will not boot from the device alone, but will load the OS with an error, after booting from standard SSD drive. Very fast benchmarks.

One Star
ASUS doesn't sell their proprietary M.2 standoff screws by themselves so I had to buy this.

Good, Affordable Card
Mine works fine. However, it did not help me overcome the eventual failure of my ASUS Z170 to recognize the Samsung 950 Pro M.2 SSD on the motherboard itself (after loading all software without issue), as I hoped it would. It turned out that the problem was caused by the default "Secure Boot" setting in the UEFI Bios, which must be set to [Other OS] under "OS Type", instead of [Windows UEFI Mode]. Who'd of thunk it, for my Windows 7, 64 bit system? I only discovered this after the problem reappeared with a conventional HD and new motherboard, and then Googling it extensively. Now the SSD is mounted back on the m/b with no issues (and is very fast). Anyway, this M.2 SSD card works great as intended. Order one with confidence if it is compatible with your system.

Unrecognized M.2 slot problems on your Asus X99-A? Or just want a great M.2 PCIE card? Then get this !
I had a purchased a Samsung 950 PRO Series - 512GB PCIe NVMe - M.2 and was having a nightmare of a time trying to get my Asus X99-A motherboard to recognize it. As a last ditch effort to make this into a win I purchased this PCI M2 card. And guess what... it worked flawlessly. No crazy settings or anything. I was able to use the samsung software to migrate my main boot partition to the drive and was up and running lightning fast! I highly recommend this product to anyone having the same problems I was having or that wants to jump into SSD land full force.

Highly recommend
Looks sturdy, includes both full and half-height brackets. I am using it with a Samsung 950 Pro 256 as the Windows 10 boot drive on an ASRock H77 motherboard. (I had emailed ASRock support to ask if this could work; they sent me a custom modified UEFI so that I could!) Works great.

Needs a better faceplate.
Asus builds nice products, too bad the metal is silver and not black.
