Great price for a very good set of component cables.
I had been looking for a set of component cables to hook my Wii to my 37" lcd hdtv. These were at a great price and I have used some Mad Catz products in the past and have been satisfied with their quality. These cables were no different. A noticeable improvement over the standard composite cables. I started out playing the game "Cursed Mountain" with the composite cables and when this set of component cables came in I switched them out. Much improved colors and clarity. Gone is the blurry someone just rubbed vaseline all over my television screen look. Highly recommended.

Good cables, One Major Fault
These cables are solidly built and seem high quality while holding them. They are easy to connect, and feel solid in every way. The picture looks great, I can't complain about that at all.The only real downside to these cables is that the video and audio cables are stuck close together. My Yamaha receiver has video connection on one side and audio on the other, so to get this to work I had to spend another $5 for RCA cable extenders to reach across the receiver. While it's no huge deal, I shouldn't have had to do that, and it reduces sound quality a bit now because there's a big extension cable there. It was really stupid of Madcatz to assume everybody has a similar setup to theirs. They should have made the audio and video separate, like every other component cable kit I've seen.Regardless, with the price now at $10 for the cables plus the extra $5 or $10 for the extension adapters and extra audio cable, it's still worth it to get.

Keep in mind the Wii resolution goes up to 480p/480i
So last year my wife decided to give me a red Wii as a Christmas present, which was great! I now can play the classic Nintendo games on Wii such as Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong and all the other Nintendo exclusives.Being the proud owner of an 80 gig PS3 the first thing that jumped to me was the quality of the graphics, as you may know, the Wii does not include component cables but the average composite cables instead (the yellow, white and red ones) Even when using component cables, the most resolution you can get from a Wii is 480p/480i.With this in mind I decided to order these cables despite many people saying they would not make a big difference. Well? They do! I am playing on a Sony LCD 55" TV set, so even with the TV calibrated accordingly the color definition was not the best when using composite cables. After plugging these to the Wii and setting them up accordingly*, the difference was not small but the opposite, the colors and the definition improved in a very notorious way. Again, the pixelation that comes with a 480p resolution is still there but the clarity and color is definitely better with component cables. I can't say much about the sound as I have this plugged directly to the TV (I still need to update my audio receiver to one that accepts HDMI)I can definitely recommend these if you want to see an improvement in the video quality, but please consider the Wii limitations in regards to HD graphics.*I happen to have a friend who was telling me these type of cables were not worth it in his experience. Well, he did plug them, but forgot to go to the Wii menu and change the video output from composite to component, which explained why he was seeing no difference.

Audio woe
Do not buy if your analog audio ports are not directly next to your video in ports. My speaker is 1 foot away yet cannot connect it. I ended up taking apart a old dvd player, extracting it's audio inputs and wiring it into a old RCA cable to extend the wires. It's one long cable, then it's split at the last five or so inches, impossible to remove without splitting and splicing the actual wire. Otherwise quality is good. Nice sturdy and expensive feeling quality. Image quality is how I expected it to be.

Works fine - good image quality
I wanted a second setup so I could move my Wii from my Living Room to my family room to play Monster Hunter Tri without disturbing the family at night. I initially hooked them up wrong (put the red audio jack into the red component jack) and it took me a while to figure out why things looked weird. Not surprising, user error. Once I had them connected correctly, it looked as good or better than the official cables I had in the other room. Cables are rather heavy gauge (a good thing). It's a very cost effective solution.

good upgrade.
great upgrade for an hdtv. with the wii (unfortunately) not being a high def system, you're only going to get 480p with this (after switching the video settings in the wii menu), so the jagged lines people mention are pretty noticeable, but not so horrible that i can't stand it. the picture is improved, a lot of things are a lot sharper, and things in general pop more. i wouldn't pay for the official nintendo cable, but definitely go with a well-known third party like mad catz, nyko, etc, instead of cheap, nameless cables. for 15 bucks, the upgrade was well worth the purchase.

Colors washed out ! Whites are grayish.?
Believing I was going to get a bit better picture from these cables to play Smash Brothers Brawl I got the colors washed down.I changed the settings to 480P, re checked all cables in proper spots, and all else. The sharpness did improve a bit however the colors were so washed out. Whites looked grayish.I popped in the original cables that came with the Wii and the colors popped up beautifully again. I am assuming I must have received a defective product. White colors should be white- not gray...Question- when I chose the 480P and wide screen settings- not sure why the Smash Bros Brawl game stayed in the square se3tting.. I though it was supposed to use up the whole wide screen. I made all necessary changes to the tv, console, game to use the wide screen 480P method. Who knows.I'll be asking for Amazon to re send me new ones however can't recommend because they're totally useless .

Excellent value for money & provides an excellent picture.
If you're deliberating as to whether or not to purchase component cables for your Wii then I would suggest that you buy this! Reasonably priced, provides an excellent picture and very good value for money.Forget the branded Nintendo cable, too expensive, this does the job at a fraction of the price!

Made big difference
I am new in arena of Gaming and Wii is the first console I have ever bought. I was anyways impressed by Wii without HD Cable but this cable made big difference. While playing "Need For Speed - Carbon" I always used to think that there should have been an option of deeper control for Car's Headlight. Speeding at 110 miles per hour, you cannot see the turns and edges of the road clearly. That was one of the complaints I had against this game that graphics are eye straining. The day I got this cable and plugged in the first word I said was "Wow" and then now it makes sense to play game. You will notice big improvement in screen and clarity of graphics. I will recommend to go for Component/HD Cable. If you have spent 300 pounds in console and games then it is worth spending few more quids to get best out of this console.

A "must have"
I have a 40 inch LCD screen and always found the image quality of the Wii composite (SCART) output seriously inferior. A lot of dot-crawl and color noise, waving, etc.. If you have a similar setup just notice all the noise around border of the Wii remote pointer... See what I mean? This cable is truly amazing: for only 14 pounds you significantly enhance your gaming experience. The build quality is very good and the length is way more that enough anyone should need, even in the most weird setups.A "must have" for the owner of the Nintendo Wii and TV screens over 32 inches.

Essentail product for the Wii
The quality of this product is very good considering it is 3rd party but the difference it makes to games on the Wii is simply astounding. Everything from menus to gameplay is rich in colour and detail and makes you wonder why anyone bothers even plugging in the composite connector if they have TV or screen that supports component in.480p is a massive improvement on the 576i that you get standard, I honestly couldn't go back to using composite cables.

The best picture from the Wii that is possible.
This is every bit as good as the official Nintendo Component cable. Using any other connection (including those HDMI adapters...) won't look as good as component. You'd be mad to buy the official cable - this is way cheaper and just as good if not better.
