The Dreamiest Supplement Out There
I've been using Iron Dream for about a year and a half now, and I couldn't be happier with the product, specifically Grape. My original intentions were to use this as a night time recovery supplement, as advertised, but it has really grown to be more of a sleep aid.Effect: I usually take this about 30-40 minutes before I plan on going to sleep, as the instructions dictate, and around that time exactly, I begin to feel myself nodding off. I climb up into bed and find myself asleep within minutes, even after months of continual use. I have tried other supplements, such a melatonin, and personally find this far more effective. Melatonin tends to put my body physically at ease, making it easier to lay still, but Iron Dream allows me to completely relax, and drift soundly asleep. When you pop the lid for the first time, you'll notice an anti-moisture packet at the bottom, or more recently two plastic squares to prevent moisture from affecting the powder. Although these sometimes get annoying as you begin to scrape the bottom of the can, I would recommend leaving them in; this powder in particular tends to be incredibly soluble, and will clump easily if you take out the packets, or leave the lid off for extended periods of time, exposing the powder to moisture. The scoop is very reasonably sized, and you will not find yourself requiring more than 1 scoop (the recommended dose).Although extended use of this product may cause you to build up a tolerance, I would warn against taking more than 1 scoop in large increments. After a few months, I tried taking 2, and felt that tingly rush in my face that you get all too often from pre-workout. It wore off after about 20 minutes, and the drowsy effect eventually came on, but it wasn't the most pleasant experience right before going to sleep, and could definitely have been avoided by incrementing more gradually. One effect that I love about Iron Dream is that I wake up feeling refreshed. I am by no means a morning person, but after getting 5+ hours of sleep I wake up feeling great.Flavor: I've tried both Grape and Fruit Punch, and personally, I much prefer the grape. Fruit Punch, in my opinion, is very similar in taste to the Fruit Punch Iron Pump, which I was never to keen on. The Grape taste is sweet, but not excessive, when dosed properly. For those of you who have never tried Iron Pump, the Fruit Punch flavor isn't like a Kool-Aid fruit punch; it's more bitter in my opinion. The grape flavor was more of a classic candy-like, artificial flavoring.Recovery: The recovery effects are not as profound as something like creatine. For example, when only taking Iron Dream the night after a hard workout, I would still be fairly sore the next day, as opposed to the more significantly mitigating effects of some creatine products. This will however, help you recover in the quality of sleep that you will achieve.Overall: I am so glad that I came across this product, and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who might workout late at night, and struggle to fall asleep shortly afterwards. In my personal experience, it blows melatonin out of the water, and helps me get to sleep every night, even after months of use. I've tried several of the Musce Pharm products, and this stands out as the most effective compared to other competitors.

Better than I originally thought
OK, I have to change my rating and opinion from a two to a four. Most of what I said below may still hold true but I have to admit I have been getting a good nights sleep which is the main purpose of my buying this product. The first few times I didn't notice any sleep benefit. I decided to try it again after a few bad nights. To my surprise, I did sleep soundly for six hours. For me, that is more than I can ask for. So if you can stand the strong aftertaste, this product does aid sleep. Just take it with as little water as possible so you don't have to wkke up to "eliminate" excess body fluids if you get my drift. I imagine I will have to cycle it as it may lose it's effectiveness but that is to be expected. Besides, cycling never hurts when it comes to most supplements.####################### old review #########################Has a "proprietary" blend which usually keeps me from buying a product because you don't know how much of each ingredient you are getting. This product is no different. The grape flavor is not that good and I didn't notice any better sleep which is why I tried it.The supplement market is rife with expensive products of marginal value and I also think Arnold puts his name on whatever pays him well these days without regard for what's in the container; again, this being another example. All around, save your money. Stick with a good protein powder (there is a very good one by body fortress that can be bought at a very reasonable cost at that big box store everyone loves to hate) and maybe some BCAA's. (I reviewed a good value one on Amazon if you look at my other reviews). Again, hard work, good food and a few supplements and rest are what's needed to grow. You can listen to all the latest hype or take it from an old gym rat. At 61 I'm 220 lbs, 5'10" with 10-12% body fat depending on the season. I have been lifting since the "Arnold" era and have seen fads and supplements come and go and come and go again. Stick with the basics. You will grow and be heavier because of the money in your pockets that you didn't waste on over hyped products. Just my opinion of course.

I was skeptical, but now this is part of my nightly recovery routine.
I was a little bit skeptical of this product because of the celebrity endorsement. We all know that Arnold was a great bodybuilder back in his day and has definitely left an impact on the sport, but it's pretty easy to get a celebrity to slap their name on a product and just wait for the checks to roll in. To be honest, I have absolutely no idea how much of this product was designed or even used by Arnold, but it's pretty great. I do CrossFit 4-5x a week and supplement that with additional lifting at home and this is one of the best products I've ever used for recovery. The first two nights I used it I had some pretty strange dreams and woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep for about an hour, but that has never happened again. Now I put my head on the pillow and I am OUT right until the alarm goes off. I definitely feel refreshed when I wake up, but I can't say that's 100% because of this product, as I also take my vitamins and a casein shake before bed. I can say that after a tough day of working out that this is probably the supplement I look most forward to, because I know I'm going to get a good night's rest. The only two negative things I can say about it are:1) Taste (mine is grape) is kinda weird. It's not a bad taste, but it almost has a metallic finish to it, even if you add a bit of extra water. I think it only really tastes like grape because I know that's what it is supposed to be.2) Packaging. Not only did it not come with a scoop (maybe it's an Amazon thing?), but the wrapper on the bottle comes all the way off after opening, so you either need to tape it back on, or just look up the label if you have a question about it. It would be nice to see it wrapped to the bottle independently of the plastic seal on the lid.
