This is a good external drive to keep around the house or office. Just plug it into a USB 2.0 port or better and your ready to go. The tray ejects with no problems, the drive is responsive, and it isn't very noisy. The drive itself is a Panasonic drive, which means you should get good use out of it. At least I hope I do! :) I plugged this into a Dell laptop running Windows 10, and had no driver issues. Literally plug-n-play. I am satisfied with this product.

I was under the impression this was a recordable drive based on the Amazon description and other reviews, but it is not. The box did not come with a writable software disc, although it was listed in the product instructions. The drive also did a poor job reading a photo CD. It continuously crashed. I do not recommend purchasing this product.

Purchased this to use with my Surface Pro 3, no such luck; however, it does work with an old laptop I have or I would not rate it this high.

Very great build and quality. It was delayed durring shipping but received it a few days later. I am happy with my purchase and defiantly recommend it. I dropped it once from a table and it is still in good working condition with no damage.

I used it one time to download windows 8 and I could not eject the disk no matter what I tried. I will have to tear it apart to retrieve my disk as there are no screws to open this. DO NOT BUY!
