This reduces failures, as touching the bulb can cause it to explode. A protective tempered glass covering is still required within the fixture itself to protect from injury and exposure to ultraviolet radiation.+ PACKAGING: The six bulbs are individually packaged in boxes, protecting them during shipment and storage until used.+ ECONOMY: The box of six offers a great value over purchasing the bulbs individually.+ WARRANTY: Philips provides a warranty against defective bulbs.-THE BAD+/- TECHNOLOGY: Although some fixtures may not be compatible with LED bulbs, these halogen bulbs are less than ideal. They emit ultraviolet radiation, burn hotter, are less energy efficient, and don't last very long. More and more fixtures can be retrofitted for LED bulbs. It is worth looking into that option prior to replacing your halogen bulbs with the same technology.- NOT RECYCLABLE: There is no indication that these bulbs are recyclable.

Bulbs work great. Just what I needed. Order was fulfilled thru Amazon. It was on time and the bulbs were secure and undamaged in their shipping container.

Finally I found replacement bulbs that don't flicker. Gradually goes from dim to bright and was able to get 6pack at affordable price.

This is a hard one to review. For one thing, these bulbs are difficult to replace in recessed ceiling light fixtures, but that isn't the fault of the bulb! How long the bulbs last CAN be judged, and I've had very mixed experience with the same ones from the same manufacturer in the same packaging. I've had bulbs that lasted for years and then had a bunch - maybe a defective package - where they burned out frequently, sometimes lasting just two weeks. This latest batch seems to be lasting longer. I hope that continues. As mentioned, they are not easy to replace!

Nice and bright, clear, no humming. Just what I needed for over the kitchen sink.

I hope only one of my bulbs was a dud, as it stopped working after only 10 days. I handled the bulbs by placing socks on my hands, so as not to touch any of the surfaces and leave skin oil on them. They are very brilliant, that's for sure; they give off a lot more illumination than the incandescent bulbs that were formerly in the same location.

I understand their products are refurbished but I expected them to work. The first keyboard did not work and the second one arrived broken. I contacted the seller a third time with pictures and all and they did not respond nor did they replaced the keyboard. Be careful.

Excellent lights as described. Long lasting. Superior price to the big box stores.
