High quality TPU case and cover that has an amazing built in kickstand that allows unlimited viewing angles.
This is a great high quality product. I bought this for an iPad mini 2 because I wanted some good all around protection for when my kids use it without it being too thick. Having also owned a Microsoft Surface device I am also familiar with the real value of having a built in kickstand that is adjustable. Once you have that on a tablet there is no going back. This case is a high quality TPU material that fits snugly without adding too much bulk. The hump for the swiveling kickstand protrudes very slightly (about 2mm) but it seems like less due to the gentle taper used. It looks like a bigger hump in the pictures than it appears to be in real life. The cut outs for all the buttons, camera, speakers, etc are precise and nicely rounded at the edges. The case rises just slightly above the glass to protect the screen when placed face down with the cover off. Also, I put a tempered glass screen protector on my iPad and the case allowed for that additional thickness as well, although it is a bit of a tight fit. The case is about 3mm wider on the left side than the right side due to the slot that is needed to attach the removable front cover. Even though this added a little additional width to the device they did a nice job of tapering the case so it is not very noticeable. I don't think about it or notice it at all when using the device. It comes with a well made smart cover that does turn on and off the iPad when it is opened and closed. The inside of the cover is a soft microfiber to keep from scratching the screen while the outside is a rugged canvas type material that should hold up well to light abuses. The cover is very easy to remove by simply sliding it up out of the slot on the side of the case. The hole that the cover slides into was smartly made wider at the top so it is very easy to align the cover to the case making it super simple to reattach as well. As easy as it is to remove and replace I haven't once noticed it slide out of position on it's own. I do find it nice to have the removable cover especially when I'm in a public place with not so clean surfaces. It allows me to put the cover on backwards so when it is flipped open the durable easy to clean outer cover is facing outward instead of the soft semi-absorbent microfiber. Another thing I appreciate is that when using the device with the cover removed, there is an open groove along the side of the case where the cover would normally be coming out of. This groove is very thin and it is rounded inward slightly along the entire length so that when you are holding the case without a cover, you can't feel that the seam is even there. Now for the kickstand which is likely the main reason you are considering this case. While the majority of the case is made of a soft TPU material, the rotating disk on the back and the kickstand are made of a hard rigid plastic. The disk sits completely flush into the case, there are no high or low spots and the kickstand, when closed, also sits flush into the case. The disk on the back rotates smoothly and there are grooves it clicks into at each 90 degree spot. At the bottom of the kickstand there is a nice sized opening that allows enough room for my thick man fingers to fit in and pull the kickstand out from the back of the case. The kickstand consists of a rigid flat piece of plastic that's about 4mm thick and nearly 4cm wide with a metal pin that is attached to the case on one end and slides inside a groove on the bottom third of the kickstand on the other end. This pin is what provides the friction to hold the kickstand in place when you set it in any of the infinite positions it allows for. Here is where I have some concerns about the design. As advertised, the kickstand should be used with the hinge at the bottom which means the weight of the device is being put on the pin which is only held up by the friction of it being squeezed inside of the flat kickstand. So far this works just fine while on a stationary table or lap or even during a smooth airplane ride. My only concern with it is, I suspect it would start to close if it were used in a bumpy environment like on a train and I fear it may lose some of that friction over time as it is repeatedly opened and closed. For me it is not much of a concern because I primarily use my tablet in landscape mode and by simply rotating the disk around so that the hinge is at the top of the kickstand (as I've shown in my picture) the weight is on the hinge rather than the pin which should work indefinitely. The downside to using it this way is it can only be used at one angle however, I find this angle to be just about perfect when it's on my lap or on a table. As for now, I can only grade the hinge on how it has performed for me over the last month and, so far, it has worked flawlessly. I particularly like using the kickstand with it resting on the flipped back cover because it provides a nice firm wide stable base on my lap while sitting on the couch.Despite my one concern, I really have no complaints whatsoever with this case. It works great, is thinner feeling than I even hoped it would be, and the attention to the little details and quality of construction with this case is impressive. I paid $35 for it and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Very useful
I confess to wondering how good this cover could be when the purple one was only $8 (I guess it wasn't a popular color), but I have to say this cover really does the job. The fold-out panel holds up the iPad Mini in virtually any orientation, although when wanting to read while in the portrait mode it must be flipped "upside down" (as seen in one of the product photos) and this makes it slightly unstable. It does stand on its own, but in this position it is a little too easy for it to fall over.My only other (minor) complaint is the cover hinge is too easily removed - there is not quite enough friction in the slot/groove to hold it in place so it often comes sliding a third of the way down the slot. But this is minor as well - the ability to hold the iPad in landscape position (to watch videos) as well as portrait position makes it well worth it.

Great case at a great price
Initially seems to be very high quality, will update if it turns out not to hold up, but very pleased with it for now. The tpu fits great, seems like it would protect well from accidental drops, much better than the hard plastic ones. I like the cover also, it wakes and sleeps my iPad mini one. Slides off if you don't want it on, but doesn't slide off unintentionally. Seems very well made. The best part is the kick stand, will literally hold your iPad in any position, and seems pretty sturdy, so I don't expect it to break, but will update if it does. For now, could not be happier with this case, especially for the price.Update: turns out it didn't protect from drops very well. Slipped out of my hand one day going out the door, the case stayed closed, but my screen still broke. I bought a new screen, and an otter box, much better protection.

The best!
This is the best tablet case I have ever had!!! The color is as shown and having the cover be optional is fabulous. What I am really impressed with though is the stand. I am so incredibly happy with how flexible thisvstand/handle is! It goes in any configuration you could possibly think of and it says!. The case is so slim but protects ( already dropped it with no issues), is made very well, you can see and feel the quality and has a great feel to it that makes it a joy to hold. I have been through a few cases and thus one is by far the best one!

Great innovative thinking with design but plastic cracked in 3 and half months
One the best covers I've bought.I can set it at any angle, very versatile and innovative. Lightweight and an assortment of colors. The front cover can be detached and you can hold the back piece and easily shoot a video or take a picture.I bought this in August....and now it's December. The back piece has cracked. And the hinges has loosened. If I place the iPad at a certain angle and touch the screen it slides down. I'm disappointed because originally I gave this a 5 star rating.I hope they fix this problem.....

YES, updated kickstand on my mini!
YES, updated kickstand on my mini!I really like this iteration of the zerochroma kickstand. Great hand-hold, excellent multi-position stand (I use sitting/standing/laying down angles.)I've moved it to my mini4 -- it'll fit but blocks some flash, the between-volume-buttons strip is on top of one of the power up button, a few other minor things. Good enough until they get the mini4 fit out.I do not use the cover.

Absolutely the best iPad mini cover
The first cover I bought was leather - beautiful but too heavy and in the way when taking pictures. The second cover was the Apple cover that fits only on the front and is held on loosely with a magnet. The back isn't protected leaving the iPad slippery. It's not sturdy enough to use as a stand. I may sound like Goldilocks, but the ZEROCHROMA WAS JUST RIGHT. It fits snugly protecting the back and making it less slippery. Cut outs for the camera, and side buttons are in the right place. The sliding cover is one of the best features. It stays firmly in place, but when it's taken off it's out of the way for taking pictures. The iPad mini can stand at any angle. I only wish I had known about this cover first. I'd have saved a lot of money and aggravation. I highly recommend it.
