Awesome! Great Lightweight Drone! Easy to Pilot!
I picked up this drone last weekend after researching lightweight drones that I could easily take on hikes in the hills here in Southern California. Now that I've flown it a few times, I can confirm that this drone is actually pretty sweet. The listing says that the drone weighs just under the required 250g limit that the FAA requires you to register your drone. I was actually surprised at how light that is! Compared to my cell phone, I think the Dagger is just a little bit lighter, and when it's folded in, it's about the same size too!Getting the drone figured out was pretty easy, thanks to the instructional videos available on the Altair website. I also learned from those videos that Altair is a company based in the US, so that's a big bonus too.I guess what I'm most impressed with is the quality. It's not a DJI drone, but neither is the price. The drone feels like it's durably made, and it's easy to fly. The 4K camera is exceptional; I just wish you could control the tilt angle from your controller. I haven't tested it in the wind yet, but I've been really impressed with its responsiveness to the controls.

Not very sturdy.
This drone was just for fun and was going to use it to take pictures. However a couple flights in the drone lands in the grass and something appeared to stick into the motor left rear. That motor now will not turn on. This would be fine I guess if I could switch out the one motor but can’t seem to find that on their website. Quality is the issue. Should have taken a bit more to completely wreck the whole drone. Also there is no way to contact Altair except through email. If you sell in a country, you should have customer support there as well. Frustrating.

Fun to Fly! Cool Customization Options
I'd been looking for a 4K drone for a few months when I stumbled across this drone from Altair Aerial. I was really impressed with the specs, but now that I've flown it a few times, I'm even more impressed with the features included for a drone at this price.I did some digging through the App and learned that you could customize a ton of different features, including limiting your flight range. You can actually reduce the flight range, which works perfectly for me in my backyard. The battery life is pretty standard, but I did notice that the included charger has two slots, so I'll probably go ahead and order another battery to take full advantage of that too.I've only flown the drone a handful of times, but I'm finding that it's definitely worth the money for a drone in the under $300 category.

Made in China
One of the reasons I chose to buy from Altair was because they are an American family business in Nebraska. I just received my new Dagger and the first thing I saw on the box was "made in China". I haven't tried out the drone yet, but was disappointed to find I had just spent $300 to support Chinese manufacturing.BA

Good little drone...but...(read on)
The media could not be loaded. I have flown many drones from other companies of all different types, sizes and prices. Wasn’t familiar with this company so decided to check it out. In their description they state that they are a US company, implying that the drones are made in the US....nope made in China.Nice solid thick magnetic closing box...can function as ok storage...This is a rebranded MJX Bugs 7/Holy Stone HS510 drone. This is almost double the price of those two, plus those 2 come with 2 or 3 batteries and the HS510 comes with a nice case. How to justify $300???The instructions are mostly pretty good and well written. There were a couple errors I found, but nothing really of big consequence.First flight...not impressed. Didn’t hold position well...got toilet bowling multiple times and once that started it was hard to control. It just didn’t behave well as far as any GPS functions...I contacted the customer support and got a very quick response. It was decided the first unit most have a defective gps unit (I do know this can happen). So they sent out a replacement new drone. I’ve got to say...that’s the best customer service I’ve experienced with any drone company! Kudos for that. So, with the new drone...a completely different experience. It was actually plenty windy when I was testing it but one of the few days over freezing that we’ve had so I flew anyway. Nice, powerful brushless motors which handled the wind surprisingly well, especially on 2nd speed. This is a really small, light little drone (less than 250gm) which has the advantage of not needing to be registered with the FAA. With its features (good brushless motors, gps, decent camera) it is really a pretty nice little drone. It is fun to fly...very responsive. Takes nice photos although I’m not fond of the wide angle FOV which tends to give “rounded” images. What it’s not, is a good video drone....there’s no image stabilization so it’s hard to get a smooth video. The camera is only manually adjusted up and down before flight. I don’t recommend it for windy days...it just isn’t made for that.I’m generously giving it 4 stars primarily because of the great customer service and it being a decent drone that flies well, handles well, and is just fun to fly! (I do think the price is too high!)

Buy the Holy Stone HS510 and save over $100
This item is a rebranded Chinese drone. Why not buy the Holy Stone or Contixo brand and save over $100? Decent little beginner drone, it not worth $300 for a different color and new decals.
