Be sure you have lots of overhead clearance. I had to buy a different one with a "swing lid" because this one did not work under the end of my kitchen counter.

Trash cans are trash cans, right? For those of us with children and pets, wrong! I originally had an $80 trash can with the step-on pedal to open the lid, and I loved it...until two of my cats were sitting on the lid and my friend's 5 year old decided to see if he could open the lid with the cats on the lid. By the way, the answer is no, and it breaks the mechanism in the can, and your lid no longer opens hands-free. While that didn't mean I couldn't lift the lid, I'm nuts and didn't want it anymore because it didn't work as designed. So I went on a hunt for another trash can and found this one. While it is not hands-free, it's also 75% cheaper than my other one. However, I had another concern, which is why it has taken me months to write this review. I was concerned that my cats would figure out how to step on the release mechanism and pop up the top, especially after a few months' of use. Well, that is not a problem. That release mechanism is just as firm today as the day I bought it, and none of my 3 devious little kitties have managed to exert enough pressure to release it, which makes me a happy person!

I thought this was a good buy for the money. It isn't fancy, but it's functional, and I like the red color. It is matte, which keeps the color from being cheesy.

Trash can is fine, but it didn't come with the trash bags as advertised!

I'm actually quite happy with this trash can. I've had a few of the touch lid types and I'm a big fan of it. This can seems to be easier to clean the inside of the lid and stays cleaner than others have in the past. The red color may also help with the appearance of cleanliness and mask dirt. All I know is the white ones usually look gross unless you keep them meticulously clean. This one always looks good. I've had this can for 5 months and it still seems new.

Got this for my daughter. It arrived early. She says she loves it. If, she's happy. I'm happy.

This is my second one. Have to be choosy because I have a very clever border collie who figures out how to open most everything from doors to garbage cans. Good size. Like the rectangular shape for where I put it. Finally replaced the first one after 10 years+ years when the push button to open the top finally gave out. Comes in different colors too.

The space of the opening for the trash can is smaller due it flaw designed. Not only you have to press the button top of the lid to open it, you have to close it with your hands. What if you have trash in both hands? You will have to the lid with your dirty hands. The colors is good, But I prefer utility over superficial look any day
