I purchased the ZINUS 5 Inch Metal Smart Box Spring over two years ago, and it has proven to be an excellent investment for my bed setup. Here are my thoughts on this product based on my experience: Pros: Easy to Assemble: The assembly process was incredibly straightforward. The box spring came with clear instructions and all the necessary tools, allowing me to put it together in about 30 minutes without any hassle. The parts fit together perfectly, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. Lightweight: Despite its sturdy construction, the box spring is relatively lightweight. This made it easy to maneuver and position in my bedroom. It's a great option for those who might need to move it around or set it up alone. Durability: After two years of daily use, the ZINUS Metal Smart Box Spring is still going strong. There has been no noticeable wear or tear, and it continues to provide stable and reliable support for my mattress. The metal frame is robust and shows no signs of bending or sagging. I mean WOW...this company really blew me away. The product itself works great, does exactly what it's supposed to, and I'm 100% happy with it but what really took me by surprise was the level of care they put into packaging the product, offering support, and making it LITERALLY as easy as possible to put this thing together. As we all know, when putting together any furniture that comes in a box, it's 100% of the time a headache. It's never easy unless the product is cheap and had only a few parts anyway. The diagrams are a disaster, you can never find the piece you need, always need to find a tool to do it in the garage, sometimes you can't lift it because it's too heavy or cumbersome.....BUT.... THIS. WAS. NOT. THAT..... It was actually really nice and enjoyable to put this together. I've never said that about a product I've had to assemble before. They even included a perfect sized little wrench in the package so I didn't have to stress over the bolts. The diagram was so effortless to read that my dog could do it. Further more, they included a little note that stated "we feel pretty honored to be the newest part of your home. Thank you for putting us under the same roof with the things and the people you love the most. We don't take that lightly" and I was just so touched that they recognized that and even THANKED me for it. Everything about their product presentation felt genuine and like they really cared but my family getting the best sleep. I'm happy to support a business like that. Not to mention they included biodegradable "thank you" cards for me to send to whomever because they have a lot of extra paper and don't like wasting it so they give it back to their customers. I mean...cmon! Thoughtfulllllllllllll. Anyhow....buy this product, you won't be disappointed in any way. If anything, I think you'll be blown away.

I wanted to build a rock-solid bed. So I was trying to build a rock-solid foundation and it's been only a few days since I have this and am totally enjoying it. Sturdiness: It's pretty sturdy itself! But what I've done in addition is to put a 3/4th inch plywood sheet (I got it from Home Depot) on top of this to spread the weight more evenly. And then I've just put a 2" mattress topper directly on the plywood sheet (without any mattress). This combination gave me extreme support while still being comfortable (and I saved on mattress cost). BTW, I don't care about saving mattress cost, but I just wanted to have strong support and I didn't find any mattress give me that. Assembly: I'm not super handy but the instructions were so clear for a relatively complex product, I could easily assemble it all myself. They also give an additional ratchet (which no one gives), which helps a lot as well. The key to assemble this properly is to first create the center "+" frame and then for "L" shaped frames as I've shown in the picture. Also note that each of the pieces has "1", "2". "3" labeled at the end of those pieces. All you need to do is to connect "1" on one piece to "1" on the other piece, similarly "2" to "2" etc and in that order. Also, watch the video they provide in this product itself (the last picture is a video).

As soon as I received the box spring, I started to put it together. Upon opening, the plastic straps were broken and I noticed that some of the bars were scratched and the plastic on the ends of the bars were cracked, chipped or broken. I'm assuming the product was returned used and sold used. A little disappointed as I didn't order a used box spring. I did receive the cover as brand new. Building was simple, once i figured out what letters matched the pieces. Another reason why I assume the product was sold used. I had a difficult time which piece was which letter, this took me longer to figure out that putting the product together. Had the letters been attached to the corresponding piece and strapped with the corresponding piece, piecing everything together would have started much quicker. Overall, I'm happy with the product. My girlfriend and I have were given the money for Christmas to finally get a bedroom set we'd been waiting for since May 2017. Believe me when I say, I've been trying to buy furniture for months now, but my girlfriend insisted on waiting until her mom had the money to buy it for us. This was a moving out gift. From May until now, we've been sleeping on just a mattress on the floor. We're finally lifted up. The frame is sturdy and comfortable. Easy to put together (once you figure out which pieces is what) and affordable. Did I mention that cleaning the cloth of the box spring will be easier and if it's torn, you can easily replace it at an affordable price? If you're on a budget, want to save the extra cash, this is the product for you. Box springs can get pretty expensive, but this helped me keep more money in my pocket.

So as some have posted which I will agree with, frames are not perfect and some forethought is required. It goes together perfectly except one of the bars was smaller than the other and another was bent. So my remedy was to just bolt the bent side together and assemble it all as much as possible, when I got to the two bars where one was shorter than the other, I bolted the smallest one first and than the longer one with a little effort. Once it was all bolted together I just added a extra human to stand on opposite ends and it straightened itself out with no breaks. So assembled it the rest of the way, put it on the frame, threw the mattress on top and have not had a single issue past the assembly. Cheap, Easy to fix if you have to work it a little ( do not force, work it), sturdy, no noises on my end, fits my frame perfect and my mattress. Hope this works well for you as it has been for me. We have had a 5" wooden box spring under our mattress for 3-4 years. One side of the bed (mine) would squeak every time I would roll over or get in/out of bed. My wife is a light sleeper so of course the noise would wake her up. She can be a bear when she gets woke up "for no reason". Anyway, I finally decided to look for a new box spring. I found the ZINUS 5 Inch Metal Smart Box Spring and figured since it would ship free and had free returns with Prime that I would give it a try. Well, I EASILY put it together yesterday (21 Dec) and we put it under the mattress for it's first night of use. I tell ya right now, this box spring is AMAZING! Not one squeak from this box spring. I think this thing has saved my marriage, lol. Seriously though, if you have a box spring that squeaks or makes any noise at all, throw it out and buy this one. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!

First- yes, it is easy to assemble. It is sturdy. But, I wish I hadn't bought it and here's why- I bought a Zinus platform bed that is low-profile (10" height) because I have a 14" mattress. Several websites suggested that 24"-28" is an ideal bed height. I tried this 24" height combination for a few weeks and I just did not like it (and, I could not get a bedspread to lie right such that the sides of the comforter/bedspread cover the sides. My bedspread bunched-up on the floor as the bed was too low). Therefore, I finally decided that I wanted to add 4-5" of height to my bed. My Zinus platform bedframe is nice, it is solid and was easy to assemble. Therefore, when I went to buy a boxspring to add 4-5" of height, I elected to go with Zinus. My assumption was that their King size would be precisely the same size as my King Zinus bedframe and I thought perhaps there would be some sort of compatibility benefit of having both units made by the same company. This was my disappointment and frustration. The box spring Is the same size as my Zinus platform bed, but that's all I can say that's good. There is no sort of channel or track or built-in stops etc,, there is no built-in compatibility with my Zinus bedframe. This boxspring does NOT have a cover that goes all the around the box spring frame (as it appears it used to) but rather the cover goes on with elastic, very similar to putting a bottom-sheet onto a mattress. Thi s means that most of the bottom of the boxspring is bare metal and it sits on the bare metal of the bed frame. Perhaps you can imagine how easily is slides around. I now have to figure-out how to crawl underneath the 10" bed frame and get zip-ties attached so as to keep the boxspring from sliding off the bed frame! I'm in for nearly $500 for the two Zinus units and I am hobbling them together with hardware store zip ties. This does not make me happy in the least, but there's no way I am going to disassemble the entire thing and try to return it (plus I destroyed the box already). Live and learn - next time I won't buy a Zinus platform bedframe or assume that products from the same company are particularly compatible.

Very easy to put together! Works as it's supposed to. Full size doesn't translate to 140X200. It's a bit short, but we have it on top of the flat bed slats to keep in place. Should sell in cm.

I will always buy this type of box spring from now on. A bit of pain to put together. But once you got it. It’s simple. Instructions could be better. However. Very sturdy. I don’t see it breaking like wood. And if you have tight spaces it will always fit in your room !

It bent and caved in on me after a year of use. Before that it was loud and squeaky. Can't say I'd recommend this box spring at all.

This was extremely easy to assemble, it comes with all the tools that you need to make is as simple as possible, could not have been easier from start to finish....(when you don't have "words" with your other half when doing a build it yourself project.....you know it was simple :) !!!) The boxspring is sturdy and fits perfectly.....not much else you can add as it is literally a boxspring and nothing too exciting!!!
