KNIPEX - 45 10 170 Tools - Special Circlip Pliers, Retaining Rings (4510170)

These pliers work excellent. I put on alot of CV axle boots and these remove and install the "C" style circlips easily. Worth every penny, don't waste your money on the cheaper thinly made pliers, Knipex are a quality tool.

This item was a bit pricey, but worth every penny. It's German-made, so you know it's quality right from the get-go. I was trying to remove those "snap-rings" from my transmission output shaft, and my snap-ring pliers wouldn't cut it, and actually broke. These pliers did the job beautifully. They are sturdy and strong, and I am very glad that I bought these.

I needed this for a large clip on my tractor. Smaller clips can be opened a number of ways but the big one needed this tool. It worked great. I like the knives brand for its sturdiness and feel of quality. I added a photo of the tip to show the knurled surface

Great tool. i was replacing a bad ball joint on my kia, and i got stuck trying to put the hole-less retaining ring back on the ball joint. i struggled for almost a week before i received this pair of pliers. two minutes after i got them in the mail, my retaining ring was back on. this item is a little pricey, but IT WORKS.

Saw these as a recommendation for removing the retaining ring on a VW crankshaft (vintage 1500). Pay the money and buy these as they are far more sturdy than what you will find at your local big box or automotive parts store. They do a fantastic job of keeping the fine points of the retaining ring in place during removal. Knipex is worth every cent!

These are some of the best pliers... I got two, one that’s all metal, and then a set of 45 21 200. I prefer the all metal snap ring pliers. They feel like they have a smoother action then the pair with the red handles. The file like grooves at the nose of the pliers isnt perfect, but I’m still really happy with this tool.
