surprisingly effective cushion for the money
After trying solid foam cushions, and inflatable rubber cushions, this vinyl cushion is so far the most effective and longest lasting. Some foam cushions are much too hard on the lower spine and nerves, while the rubber donut type pillows appear sturdy, they lose air almost immediately because of a defective valve design. This Duro-Med Inflatable ring has lasted longer then any of them; apparently due to a different valve design that makes it easier to inflate, close the valve, and has held air alot longer than the other types i've tried. I don't know what the upper weight limit is for this pillow, so if youre over a certain weight it might not give you proper support, for reference, this pillow is similar in type to the inflatble floats sold for the pool and beach, and has a similar valve, which is why I bought it. For compaison, the other cushion types lasted one day before losing air; or in the case of hard foam, causing pain and unnatural posture. This vinyl one in contrast has lasted almost a month now. and that is with daily use of 8 hours per day. One key to success with this pillow is apparently not to over inflate it so that the vinyl will adjust to your personal body contours. One downside is this product does not seem to be inflatable with a pump no matter which type you use, so you'll have to inflate manually and make contact with the valve, but that seems to be the case with all brands of inflatable pillows these days. If you have to sit alot for work, for the money this pillow seems to be a good value, when it wears out will probably buy another of the same type. Keep in mind it's probably designed for weights of 200 or under, though i didnt see a weight listing in the directions, it's made of the same material as a pool raft or water wings. It seems to do a good job of relieving back and lower nerve pain. The directions recommend simply wiping it off with a wet cloth when cleaning is needed. Hope this helps.

Sitting is now less painful
The vinyl ring is helpful. I've had it for a week. I had no trouble inflating it and it does not leak any air when I sit in it. I carry it with me and no longer cringe when I get somewhere and find that the seats provided are hard metal chairs. I put very little air in it yet it feels full when I sit on it. It takes a little getting used to the feel of sitting on a ring instead of a cushion. The area where I have pain is in the lower part of my buttocks and upper part of my thigh when sitting. Sitting on the ring lets me keep the pressure off my problem area. Once I'm sure this product will continue to hold air for after a few months of my weight on it, I will order a few more for various areas of my condo and also to keep in the car. I'm also thinking about trying it in the bathtub, but I'll wait until I have extras in case it takes on water.

Item does what we wanted.
I had thought I would need to return this item because my elderly parents couldn't blow it up. But I figured it out. It does what we were hoping for and helps my mother.

She likes this option much better and it seems to be helping
My mother was getting redness and skin breakdown on her coccyx. The doctor told us to get a memory foam cushion for her recliner, but it was too tall, and if she did not get exactly centered on it, she would end up leaning over to the side. This inexpensive aid seems to be doing the trick. I don't fill it totally full of air, but just put in enough air to raise her coccyx a bit off of her recliner. She likes this option much better and it seems to be helping.

Worked for the first couple weeks
I didn’t expect much when I purchased this item, so I’m a bit surprised it lasted as long as it did. I bought this for post partum uses and it served its purpose. It wasn’t the most comfortable seat cushion, but seeing that I only needed it for 2-3 weeks until I healed, the price was unbeatable. It doesn’t hold air anymore, but I no longer need it, so money well spent for the comfort it provided for those first couple weeks.

this inflatable Ring Donut Seat Cushion Pillow was so good to have - my hubby just blew the tube ...
After surgery, this inflatable Ring Donut Seat Cushion Pillow was so good to have - my hubby just blew the tube with his mouth and it was easy to clean after each use. Using this Donut Seat Cushion made it possible for me to NOT have to use the bedpan which I dreaded using. After about 3 weeks of regular usage, the inflated donut became deflated probably due to a small puncture. But for the first 3 weeks it worked very well. You get what you pay for. After this one, we bought a better quality one from a pharmacy which is at least double the price of this one, but is sturdy in construction; well worth the extra $.

Just what the doctor should have ordered!
Last time I was in hospital my posterior got so sore, so this time I was going prepared. This cushion was perfect. It doesn't need to be inflated too much to be effective. In this case, less is better. At one time they did have a version of these in hospitals, but don't seem to anymore. So for anyone going into the hospital for any period of time, this is highly recommended! Also good for at home. I inflated mine with my oxygen supply :-) It has a nifty little valve that takes a little figuring out, but has no parts to lose and won't open accidentally and shouldn't leak.

DMI donut seat review.
After a couple of month, it deflated. It is better to pay more for the one that is more expensive as it may last longer.

Great supportive cushion
Plastic is quite strong. I use it to relieve pain in my buttocks (when I sit) from a recent back injury. Do not inflate it to maximum. It works better when only 1/2-3/4 inflated...for me anyway.

Don't think it will last
Leak after 4hrs of use. Amazon sent replacement. New version, it has the red push to seal plug. Problem with the push to seal plug is a good amount of air rushes out while pushing, need to over inflate to compensate for the lost. Minus 1 star for shipping the old version!Edit 2016-11-09The replacement lasted a bit longer, but it is now leaking too. Both rings leak on the inner rim seal. This is a poorly designed product, do not buy!I have to praise the amazon customer support policy. They sent the replacement quickly, they refunded the full amount quickly. In exchange, I had to recycle both rings. This is the benchmark for all stores to following. 5 stars for amazon. 0-star for DMI
