PURRFECT: THE EARTHA KITT COLLECTION is a digitally remastered CD that contains the 60s re-recordings of such standards as "I Want To Be Evil" and "Santa Baby." As another reviewer stated, these are the uptempo recordings and I adore these versions!The tracks sound loud and clear as though Eartha was right in your house, and the CD was produced in 2000. Also included on this album is "Just An Old Fashioned Girl," "Mack The Knife," "My Heart Belongs To Daddy," and "C'Est Si Bon," among others.I became familiar with Eartha's work from the album  The Best of Eartha Kitt , which was produced in 1982 and featured the uptempo recordings. I still have that CD but wanted one that was remastered and PURRFECT... is perfect for that. I'm sure fans would love this CD and this is a great starter for those who would like to get a taste of this legendary performer.RIP, Eartha! There will never be another one like her.

Ah-h-h, what a cover; what a CD! Eartha will put you in your place and you'll be happy to be there. Some sultry innuendo beautifully sung, a bit jazzy, and all quality. Watch-out Santa Baby! This is a fine collection of her songs- smoothly sung cabaret/lounge music, which may leave you wanting more. Eartha puts her special touch and timing on the songs; just relax and enjoy this introduction. Ver-r-ry recommended ; )

I highly recommend this to all Eartha Kitt fans - she is one of my favorites!!

My partner heard a couple of Eartha Kitt's songs and wanted more. This CD is a perfect intro to remind us of the seductress' singing talents. She takes you on a ride. Recommend you take a look at Eatha Kitt as the Plaza Album. Same songs but she toys with the audience. Such talent.

Wonderful CD such a beautiful voice and a great collection of songs. You'll love this CD.

I'm surprised other reviewers didn't notice this: this collection doesn't feature the original recordings of the fifties, but re-recordings that Eartha did in the early sixties (the earlier ones being from 1959). Those who love Eartha Kitt know what I mean: you can't compare the original versions of "Santa Baby", "I want to be evil", "C'est si bon" and so delightful others she did in the fifties with the ones she revisited a few years later with less spice, passion or inspiration. At the time I write this, a new collection called "The Essential" to be out soon seems to be a much better start, with the original versions of the songs mentionned above, including "Monotonous" and "Santa Baby".

This might be my favoruite Eartha Kitt collection. The songs here seem to have been re-recorded in the 60s and they sound more juicy than the usual studio recordings from the 50s (I Want to be Evil, Ces't Si Bon, etcetera). Her voice is perfect, her performance brilliant, and the songs are enjoyable and legendary. The selection is very good. All her trademark songs have been included here.What can I say more? I love it!
