It’s a tank!
I bought mine back in 2009. It’s been through it all. Even wrecked a motorcycle wearing it. Crazy thing didn’t even break. Only after that 6 years after buying it did the accuracy change. Still though was with in 10 seconds per day. This past year it finally slowed down. Reached out to Hamilton to get it serviced. It’s not a valuable watch money wise but it’s sentimental. Total cost to refinish and service was $300. Pricy for a sub $1k watch but I bought mine cheap so all good. It’s a very well made piece.

Swiss Made...?
Bought the automatic version of this watch for around $400 back in 2008, and it lasted until just now, when the rotor fell off and the mainspring broke. That's a shade under 4 years, which if you do the math is about $100 per year. Not a great investment, to say the least. When I first got it, I felt a slight grinding when screwing down the crown, which turned slightly more each time I fastened it. I read that this might have been due to imperfections in the threads, and it got better over time. Also, the crowns occasionally came unscrewed slightly, which isn't a problem, if you catch it before the thing gets submerged in water and ruined. Add to these minor inconveniences a movement that lost about 6-7 minutes per month, and you have a very average low-end Swiss automatic. The fact that it completely fell apart, however, makes me wonder where it was truly made. When searching for mechanical watches, bear in mind that to be marked "Swiss Made," the watch need only have 50% of its parts and manufacture from Switzerland. ETA movements (the one in this watch and the vast majority of other Swiss watches) are supposed to be reliable. After this experience, I will go with only watch makers that produce their own movements and are reputable. Hamilton is just another worker bee in the giant hive that is Swatch Group. No wonder quality isn't what it once was.

Big Chunk of a Watch - Dual Time Zone - Keeps Great Time
I fell in love with this watch the first time I saw it. It has the military look that I like - black face, simple dial, Arabic numerals, big hunk of metal with a rubber strap and contrasting stiches. This isn't a watch to wear with your Armani tux, unless your name is Bond, I suppose? The real reason I bought this watch is the dual time zone (or GMT) feature. It has a simple sub-window that allows you to track the hour in another port of call. (It is a "Navy" watch). It also has a window that lets you scroll through cities in various time zones so you can remember (you world traveler you) what city you want to remember the time in (if that makes sense, you have been paying attention). The watch has a scratch proof crystal. There is a display back. It has a date sub-dial and the strap is very comfortable. This is a sleeper - watch hounds, go take a look. The price is amazing for the quality.
