Great warm weather boots... size up!
These are wonderful if you go in to it knowing a few things and get the right size. I'd hesitate to call these a snow boot. They will protect your feet from a bit of rain or a small amount of slush on the ground, but they're not really warm enough or substantial enough to call a snow boot. Another reviewer called them a mix between a boot and a high top sneaker, and I think that description is apt. It's actually why I bought them. I live in the Pacific NW but was invited to go to Disney this summer. I have intermittent mobility/motor control issues. I'm a klutz. I needed a flat, super comfortable, "everything shoe" that could deal with rain in the PNW as well as sun and heat in the middle of the southern summer, and wouldn't get in the way when my legs turn to mush. I think these will work okay, especially since I have time to break in the leather around the top so they can be worn with capris.I reliably wear a 7.5 or an 8 in almost every shoe I've ever tried. The only exception on the low end is the Sanuk Yoga Sling sandals. I take a size 7 there. I own the Sorel Joan of Arctic Wedge in an 8. The first time I ever had to go larger than an 8 was Sperry Saltwater Misty. I bought those recently in an 8.5 because I needed to be sure I could fit thick winter socks (they are not super warm, either). I decided to buy these, the Sorel Out and About Leather, in 8.5 as well. They fit great, perfect sizing. I took out the insole that came with them and put in a Powerstep Orthotic in a size 7-7.5 and they fit perfectly. I do recommend switching out the insole no matter what because there's just not much to the ones that come with them. Not much support, if any.Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase, but as has been mentioned here repeatedly by others, I do recommend sizing up a half size from your usual boot size... even if your reference point is other Sorel Boots. (A full size would have been too large). Four stars only because of the tricky sizing issues and the misnomer of being a "snow boot" that could confuse some buyers, but it would have been 5 stars if the description and sizing had been more succinct. They're good shoes if you know what you're getting.

Weird Sizing but Cute
I received these as a gift in a size 6, 5.5 is my normal size so they were already a half size up. They came in the original box, I loved them and they were super comfortable but they were just a bit small for rain/winter boots. I could only comfortable fit one pair of socks and decided to go up to the 6.5. Returned and re bought them, which was easy enough but the size 6.5 that I received had a serious issue. The left shoe was sewn weird and the leather pushed into my foot. It was not just uncomfortable, it actually hurt. I feel like someone had returned them before as I read a similar review and the box they came in was not their original box. They did look new though. The half size up felt like way too much as well, but I could have lived with it. I wish I had just kept my 6's. Will probably reorder one more time in the 6 again and hope they are like my first pair, with no factory defect. I really love the look of this boot, but they run very small and seem to have issues sometimes. I will edit this review once I reorder in the 6.Edit: I just don't know what to make of these boots. I reordered in a 6 since there were issues with my 6.5's. The new 6's fit completely different than my first pair. They actually fit like a true 6, which is great. The right shoe is perfect, however, the left shoe has a problem again!!! The rubber sole is noticeably much lower than the right shoe and there is a piece of leather on the inside of the tongue that is sewn weird again. It is not as bad as the 6.5's and I'm happy with the size so I think I am going to try to wear them and see if they break in and don't leak. I feel like I was sent another returned pair though because they were in a different box (like the 6.5's) so I am a bit frustrated. I think as cute as these are they just have a lot of manufacturing problems, which is weird for Sorel. Amazon has been great about returns so far, hope these end up working out so I don't have to return them for a third time. Will add photos later.

Narrow/small requiring sizing up. Fall, not winter boot. Great overall!!!!
Fit:I have wide feet but wear a standard 7 in US women's shoes. I ordered an 8 and they fit great around the width of my feet, but are obviously too large length-wise. The extra length hasn't been an issue and is very helpful when I want to wear thick socks.Ankle:These shoes hit around the ankle which is problematic at first if you aren't wearing thick socks as the leather is stiff and almost "cuts" into your skin. After breaking these in, this is no longer a problem and thinner socks are now just as comfortable.Warmth:These are great for cool weather, like fall or rainy weather. These are not warm enough to wear for an extended period of time outside in the snow. My feet, even with wool socks, were freezing in the snow.Weight:These are light (for boots) and so easy to run around in. I do not feel weighed down when wearing these like many of my other boots. My Joan if Arctic boots by sorel are too heavy unlike these to wear if it not snowing a ton.Color:The Elk color is accurate to the stock photo.Overall:These are narrow and require sizing up if you don't have narrow feet. There is a breaking in period, especially around the ankle. These are a fall boot, not a winter snow boot - as they do not provide any warmth. I do love these boots and would recommend them or buy them again.Photos: Out n about with Joan if Artic (sorel winter boot) , bottom of shoes, back of shoes,***Thank you for reading my review. please let me know if you found this review helpful by clicking the “helpful” button below. thank you.***

Awesome boots, just be cautious with size
Love, love, love this boot! Exactly what I was looking for - something to wear while "out and about" in colder months that isn't heavy but still waterproof. A note about sizing... I ordered these boots after scouring reviews to figure out what size to get. MANY reviews (and even the Sorel website) said they run small so go a full size up. I'm normally a size 8.5, sometimes a 9 so I first ordered a 9.5. They were HUGE. Easily returned them (thank you Amazon) and received my size 9's and they're great but still even a little bit big. I added an insole to help snug them up and I still have the option to wear a heavy sock if I want. So I was surprised that so many people found they ran super small when for me a half size larger is PLENTY. But overall, I love wearing these boots! Great purchase.
