Q: Where is this stapler made?

I received the Stanley Bostitch B440-BLACK Classic Desktop Stapler on January 15, 2015. On the Stanley Bostitch box containing the stapler, it is printed "Made in China".

Q: How do you open it for bulletin board tacking?

Just lift up the top part and start tacking. No levers on the bottom to press.

Q: What size staples does this use?

Once upon a time, reliable office staplers existed. I have one I that was issued to me 50 years ago that still works. The B440 seems to be close to the best that is now available. It has a note that it uses "Standard" staples . The staples that I have been using are about 12 mm wide (just under 0.5 inches).

Q: Description claims it opens 180 degrees. I am unable to open for board tacking. Am I doing something wrong?

Mine opens a full 180 but it is an older one, but is the B 440 number on the bottom. When you open it to add staples you just pull it farther and it looks to be 180 degrees to me.
