Skip・Beat!, Vol. 18 (Skip Beat! Graphic Novel)

I have to admit realizing just how neglected Kyoko was growing up was absolutely heartbreaking. This volume is like the rest of the series, absolutely hilarious but with just the right amount of serious moments to remind you this is essentially a drama instead of just pointless humor. But I still wonder about why the relationship between Ren and Koo is the way it is. This volume also brings up the question if we're ever going to actually see Kyoko's mother?As for this series being on the new Kindle Fire HDX I couldn't be happier! You can actually zoom in on the frames if there's something you can't see well and that was always a complaint I had for other comic series. Reading my manga without having to worry about people giving me strange looks was the reason I got a kindle in the first place and I can't tell you how great it is that my favorite series is finally supported by the Kindle! The only downside was that this series isn't available on my old Kindle Fire for some reason so I actually had to upgrade to the newest model. Hurt my pockets but if they keep making manga available this baby will pay for itself pretty quick. And that the digital manga are half the price of an actual book is just can't be beat!

This is one of my favorite manga series. I'm definitely happy to be able to carry it around with me now on kindle lol.

Great series, very detailed from the storyline to the drawings (even the left hand drive Porche). Can't wait to read more. Coming of age love story with great morals set in Japanese culture.

This was a gift and the recipient loved it. I got it quickly and in great condition. It was just one of several in this series and it was a great addition.

It arrived in perfect condition without any yellowing, age, or wear. It's a wonderful story, as well.

The art was in great detail and shading was wonderful. This volume was kinda depressing. It's been very boring I hated this volume a lot.

This is my favorite manga series by far. It's the first one I ever read online and loved it so much I purchased all the books available in english at the time. You need to learn to read from right to left and also get a feel for which scene, or box on each page is to be read first as well. For English, they have done away with the original Japanese titles and used Mr. or Mrs., ect. I actually wish they hadn't. I know it would be difficult to keep them, since some may never read the online scanlations, but you lose the levels of familiarity between the characters when they are not used.I love to be able to hold these in the hand though, and see every gorgeous detail in Nakamura's drawings.In this volumn, we get to see more of Kyoko's upbringing and some insight into why she is this way now. This is a fun one, because Ren's father is also heavily involved here. Ren gets very upset in this chapter and everyone assumes they know why, and although seeing his father with Kyoko is the catalyst, in the next volumn we find out his reason's are a bit different than expected.This is a cute, clean, romantic, fun series.
