Shock absorber replacement
Along with previous posted recommendations using a 1/2" socket and pliers, remove the motor and plastic device to gain access to shock on the right side.Took apart one of the "worn" shocks. There is a friction ring on the metal shaft. That bumps against high density foam collars. The 1/2" end play mentioned in previous posts is the clearance between the friction ring and the foam bumpers.

Worked great at first
I installed these in November 2020, worked great initially. Now, February 2022 (15 months later), both shocks catastrophically failed causing damage to the washer belt (I have to replace the belt). Hopefully, the new set of shocks I ordered will last much longer.

Fairly easy to change
The extra pin and nuts that they mentioned in the description did not show up with the shocks but I didn't end up needing them anyway. For the removal/install I had to take the back panel off to move the control board out of the way to get the lower pin out but other than that they were fairly easy to change out. Use a 1/2 inch socket to slide over the end of the pin to push down the locking pin. Big difference with the new shocks in!

Fun times in the old laundry room
We moved into a "new to us" condo. The washer was a small front loader GE that was built in 2005. The washer was jumping around the floor, even with a stacked dryer on top of it! So after watching a youtube video I ordered these and now it runs so quite and smooth! Just call me if you need your shocks replaced!

these shocks fitted like the originals
I used these shocks on a Frigidair washing Machine that was 16 years old. it was a difficult repair veryhard to get into . However,once shocks were installed Washer works great Now.
