Save your time and buy a lansinoh
I had really high hopes for this pump. Some background: I am the mother of a 3-month old baby boy and I work full-time at a super small office type environment that hasn't had a working "new mother" in at least 20 years. That being said I do have to pump in the bathroom (awful, I know) but it really doesn't bother me that bad. There is a sitting area in the bathroom so I can just lock the door and have a relaxing pumping session. When first coming back to work I had bought a lansinoh manual pump to take to work with me. I love it! The pump fits comfortably in my hand and only has 3 pieces to clean to make for quicker clean-up. I paid 25ish for the lansinoh. Pumping was going well but I was having engorgement issues because I only pumped 1 breast at a time. In order to pump both breasts I would have been taking up the restroom for approximately 30-45 minutes, every 2-3 hours and that seemed excessive. In order to maximize the output of a session, I decided to buy another pump and wondered if there may be an even better one out there and there might be...but its not this one.I found this one on sale for about 14$ and decided to try it. I was under the impression than manual pumps are so simple it would be hard to mess it up. But NUK succeeded. The handle is to large and far away from the pump itself, you would have to have relatively large hands to make it work comfortably, and I have some long hands. It makes a popping sound every time you squeeze the handle (very annoying). The suction was to much for me, causing pain and not maximizing the output. The weird "cushion" that goes over the breast is just another piece you must take apart and clean because milk goes underneath it and gets trapped. Its virtually impossible to use the pump without that piece because its very oddly shaped and doesn't cup your breast the right way. Also the ounce markings on the bottle are light yellow, and are extremely hard to see.Overall I really wish I would have just forked out the 10 extra dollars and bought another lansinoh, but I love trying new things and thinking there is always something better out there, and we have had such good luck with the NUK brand, but this product is a fail.

Works Well, But it is Hard to Clean and Sterilize
This pump is way more effective and easier to operate than my Philips Avent Manual Comfort Breast Pump (http://www.amazon.com/Philips-Avent-Manual-Comfort-Breast/dp/B009YSYCZS/ref=sr_1_8?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1392742978&sr=1-8). What I mean is that I get more milk, and in a shorter amount of time, with this Nuk pump. Plus, I don't have to try so hard to get the correct amount of suction, and the collection bottle never become accidentally unscrewed while I pump (which happened to me with the Avent pump). Since I've stopped using the Avent pump in favor of this Nuk one, I would recommend it.However, this pump is also harder to clean than my Avent pump, which is why it didn't get a 5-star rating from me. First, the top part (handle, plunger, etc.) was a bit complicated to disassemble. There is no way I'm going to take it apart and clean it every time - usually I will just rinse it while it's all attached. Second, the instructions for this Nuk pump only say that you can put certain parts (the handle and the collection bottle) in the dishwasher. Since I use my dishwasher as my primary mode of sterilization, this was seriously disappointing. My Avent pump, on the other hand, said that I could throw everything in the dishwasher. Furthermore, the Nuk instructions did not explicitly say that I could put all of the parts into boiling water to sterilize them either, so I was left feeling unsure if they parts would stand up to boiling water (the Avent instructions said to put everything in boiling water before the first use).Other notes:-The item I received didn't have cute graphics on the collection bottle - it was plain and clear.-My breast/nipple size is average / medium for a nursing mom (size D currently; size C before I was nursing). If you have medium or large sized boobs (size D and up), this Nuk pump will probably fit you. If you have smaller boobs such as a size B, you may want to choose a pump with a smaller suction cup.

Great manual pump!
This pump saved my life on an overnight camp out with the girls. Yes, my hand got a little tired, but it's a manual breast pump, what do you want? I suggest buying a couple extra NUK bottles, which are inconveniently not compatible with other standard sized feeding brands like Medela or Dr. Brown's. Not required because this pump includes a single 4oz bottle, but I find it more convenient to direct pump if I can. I was able to pump my usual volume in almost the same amount of time as my double electric... including taking breaks to rest my hand!! Very impressive, NUK.Only dropped to 4 stars because I had to rotate the unit 90° to fully express because the "ball" part in the picture seemed to block one of my ducts - so I was completely empty except for the top section of my breast which became painfully engorged until I finally figured out what was going on. This is probably due to the specific shape/size of my breast and nipple and may not happen to everyone... but FYI. Otherwise, the breast shield is super comfortable and the whole unit is fabulous and easy to use.

Aces when used correctly(?) works for me
I’ve used this manual pump on and off through the past few years and frankly I get better output than with my electric pumps. I used to think this was a result of me only using it while out and about- maybe when I was engorged. I use it more lately and now think this is a quirk of sizing—- I am around a 24mm in spectra flanges. Whatever size this dang thing is, it fits me great. As to reviews that the suction is off - try pulling all the way off and repositioning. And comments that the grey suction disk pops out of the half dome- you are probably pumping too hard or too fast. All I need is a slower, gentle rhythm and I fill this thing up before I know it. I’m back on here cause I’m considering getting a second it’s been so successful for me. My only wish is that I could buy replacement soft parts separately.

Love it.
I used this for the first time today, it worked well and was very comfortable. I love the silicone flange. The price was excellent. I prefer a hand pump to electric, though a hand pump does not pull all the milk like and electric so if you have a stubborn let down, use and electric pump so that you’re not disappointed.

I love Nuk products
I love Nuk products!!Pros- I can pump and feed in to the same bottle- easy to clean- very easy to use and comfy on the breast- has an indent for your thumbCons-taking the handle off is hard , I've had it for a week and have already broke the small hook :(- the valve holds on to the breast milk and you have to squeeze it to get the BM out- the soft cushion piece holds on to BM and all of it doesn't go in the bottle
