Tremendously delighted with this, exactly what I was looking for
Kind of funny to me that people complain about the inner hairs collapsing over the hole: that is by design! You don't need to cut them away. Just put your hand over the entire brush and it's obvious what the design is. Horse hairs are like polite strangers in a crowd: they don't clump, they keep a wonderful kind of distance from each other, small though it is, and the result in a brush like this is that the entire area of horse hairs turns into a low-pressure zone that sucks in dust. The hairs dislodge dust and the dust gets pulled into the breathing matrix. The collapse of the hair closest to the holes is necessary to allow the vacuum effect to spread through the entire zone of horse hairs. This is a diffuser, not a scraper. If you want a brush with a central "tube" of vacuuming with stiff bristles around it but not creating that kind of wonderful zone, there are plenty of attachments like that, and I have some. They're great for what they're great for. This is wonderful for what it is great at: creating an excellent fist-size zone of low pressure that pulls in dust in a way that is even throughout that zone. I gave up thinking that one or two attachments were enough. Once I got into cleaning the dust I noticed that the reason there are many different kinds of attachments is that each one has its strengths and weaknesses, but the idea is to have enough attachments so that the real strengths of each is available when I need it. I just came back to add this: I also ordered some attachments of the type that has synthetic, almost wiry, bristles around a central opening that has the tube behind it. That's a different kind of attachment - it scrapes away at the surface just a bit and pulls things into the tube. It's great, but it's not the horsehair thing where the central hairs collapse over and into the hole which causes the vacuum pressure to enter the entire matrix of horsehair, which is great for particular kinds of dust and also it doesn't pull in small objects. they're stopped by the hair. It's a wonderful, specific thing. Just get at least one of each and you'll realize the point and benefit of the floppy horsehair one. If I had a bunch of shattered pieces to vacuum up, for example, I wouldn't use this attachment, not even close, but if I want to gently vacuum an air filter or an area that has a lot of dust, but I don't want violent vacuuming potentially ripping or tearing something, I use this because it is very gentle yet very even and effective. The short horse hairs that act like bristles on the floor attachment, for example, scrape the floor to dislodge dust and things that have somewhat adhered, so it provides a kind of "scrubbing". This is not for that. This is for pulling in fine dust that can move between the hairs and it is gentle enough to do that without any violence to items that can't withstand direct vacuum suction from a powerful machine. Basically, as I said, this is a diffuser that spreads out the vacuum effect within a roughly fist-sized space while more or less caressing the surface without damaging it. I find it important to take it off after I'm done and use the open end of the vacuum tube to vacuum this brush vigorously. Some dust can be fuzz of various types, and they can get stuck, so I have to run the vacuum through this brush back and forth to dislodge and pull in those various potential things that would eventually block the flow of air.

BEST VACUUM BRUSH EVER!
I ordered one of these a few weeks ago. This is my second one. I am not taking any chances or not finding it years from now. It is so soft. I had a similar one that I purchased with my Nutone Central Vac system, over 43 years ago and it was soft like this one. I couldn't get one like it from the original company. The old one worn out after 43 years so I tried to find one like it....nope....been looking for years but still used the old one with missing bristles. FINALLY I found one and it is THIS ONE! You can dust your delicate china without scratching. I have dollhouses and this is perfect for cleaning the roofs and outside areas. You really need to stop looking and order this one!

Real Horsehair is SUPERIOR to anything else
I have recently bought three of this exact vacuum cleaner dusting brushes and can report to potential buyers that they are a first class dusting brush. What makes this a good brush is that the horsehair bristles are 1 1/2 inches long, nice and soft so that they will not scratch delicate finishes of good furniture. Also the design of the brush is ideal, without long extensions that put the brush at awkward angle when vacuuming. IMPORTANT is that the connection point of this brush is a measured 1 3/8 inch INSIDE diameter, so you need to measure your connection piece to be certain that it fits. I’m using this brush on a Miele model C1 vacuum. The “mouth of this brush is actually too small to fit my connection tube, BUT that mouth is made of flexible material, not plastic, which has allowed me to stretch the mouth and fit it to the connection tube. I store it connected to the tube which over time is stretching it to fit my vacuum. If you have a Miele C1 you can do the same. That vacuum cleaner is the best by far that I have ever encountered.

Best for the price , horse hair doesnt scratch.
Best i could find , soft and doesnt scratch . Horsehair yes. Fits well because its a rubber housing. Does shed a bit , not a deal breaker . Its very full and the hairs tend to seem to clog the opening , however suction still gets thru so it does the dusting okay . Looks the same as some more expensive ones so i went with trying this one . Would probanly buy again.

High quality brushes
I purchased a bundle containing the floor and dusting brushes. This dusting brush is so luxurious! It has thick, soft horse-hair bristles that I feel comfortable using on every surface in my home. I use it to dust pictures, decorative art pieces, and furniture. I've only had these for about a week, but I will use them constantly. I can dust shelves with ease, and the sizeis perfect to use on any delicate surface. A+ product!!

Excellent Replacement Brush
Some brushes, particularly those for shop vacuums, use nylon or other synthetic brush materials. While they're durable, they aren't as good at picking up dust or fine particulates. This natural horse hair does a great job on both coarse and fine cleaning and at a very reasonable price. Product arrived well packaged and on-time from the seller.

Poor design; see photos
Bristles are too long and not stiff enough. As the photos show they collapse into the head when connected to a vacuum cleaner. It also had a tendency to fall apart when the vacuum was turned off!
