First of all, I paid full price for this product, on my own, and was not given any discount or freebie for a review. So, this is an honest opinion from a real buyer. I was so hesitant to try this scoop, only because I have tried every single one out there, with nothing but disappointment. I have DISH disease and fibromyalgia, so have not been able to scoop ice cream for years. It's enough to bring on an anxiety attack when you know you have to count on someone else for your ice cream intake. Unless you eat it right out of the container, which I had not yet resorted to. Anyhow, the scoop arrived and I could not believe the packaging. Beautiful! The scoop itself is a gorgeous gold color. When I took it out of the box I was surprised at the weight.....it was obviously sturdy and well-made, but I thought it may be too heavy for me to use. Not so! It is designed in such a way that I was able to scoop even hard ice cream. My gosh, it was so freeing that I cried. No effort required, and my hand/wrist did not hurt afterwards. The fact that people even mention in their review that you can't put it in the dishwasher and that's a negative shows the epitome of laziness in this country. Seriously, people, it's hard work to rinse off an ice cream scoop? Oi vey. This scoop is so beautiful that I store it in the box in a drawer separate from my kitchen utensil junk drawer. Putting the scoop in the drawer with other utensils would have felt sacrireligious. I think the price is right for the quality. You will not be disappointed!!

I was impressed that a company would reach out to me when I was not expecting it and followed through on their promise. I added one extra start for stellar service.It's a beautiful scoop. I purchased the gold plated scoop, because "when would I ever have the opportunity to own a golden ice cream scoop again in my life?" With much anticipation, the box came. The packaging is intriguing, a slim long box, well designed and looks like it might have a tantalizing toy inside. The scoop itself, almost looks like the same.I read the instructions, watched the videos, and was excited to give it a try. Sadly, I've had the ice cream scoop for more than a month (and eaten ice cream nearly every day) and am bummed to say, it's not my favorite ice cream scoop. The motion advises a push motion scoop which works best when the ice cream is at a lower height than my countertop or table. For someone in an ice cream shop that needs to lean over, a push motion is understandably the best, but when the ice cream is at or above waist height, a push motion is not so easy. Also, other ice cream scoops have a warm-to-the-touch feature that cuts through the hardest frozen ice creams, and this scoop does not appear to do that. I eat the Trader Joe's ice cream (more dense than a Breyers or Dreyers) and I found that using this scoop actually shredded the carton because I had to work so hard to scoop the ice cream. I might donate this to my local ice cream shop and instead find another option.

I originally saw this product on Kickstarter and it looked really thought out and well designed, but at the time I passed since it was a little expensive for an unproven product.Fast forward a bit, and after getting tired of having to unbend spoons or deal with the times that you pry a scoop of ice cream only to have to go sailing through the air and onto the floor/table when it finally breaks free, I went looking online for it again and was pleased to see that not only was it available for sale but that it had wildly positive reviews.This product is extremely solid (literally), and does the job well. Scooping ice cream is easy, and I can do it with hard ice cream without having to pry scoops out of the container and worrying about catapulting them by accident. I've only gone through one carton of ice cream so far, but can already tell this thing should hold up well. The only possible concern I would have is if the finish were to deteriorate (which I've had happen with competing scoops), but it appears to be well done, and looking at the product site it seems like they've done extensive testing to get it right. All the reviews I've seen have been positive in this regard, and if I do develop issues at a later date I'll come back and edit this review, but I'm fully expecting that won't be needed.Truly a better ice cream scoop designed by better engineering.

Good product a great customer service. I had mine replaced after 5 years because the gold coating peeled off. I think they only offer stainless steel now which is better for the long run.
