SHIMANO MA-90 Disc Brake Mounting Bracket

Decided to upgrade my brakes on my MTB to discs. After some research & reading about sub-par brake mount adapters (misaligned holes, less than straight adapters, no mounting hardware) I decided to go w/Shimano parts. I know there a bit more expensive, but figured stopping power & reliability was not something I should cheap out on.The SHIMANO SM-MA90 Disc Brake Adapter (for Post Front) was exactly what I needed to mount the SHIMANO M375 Post Mount Brake Caliper for my front forks brake. The adapter is a well made, quality part which came w/the 2 bolts & washers needed to mount it & the caliper to the bike forks. The bolts came w/thread locker preapplied. The adapter is also labeled so you know which way to mount it. This adapter was perfect for the caliper’s post mount holes, allowing for the 180mm SHIMANO XT SM- RT86 rotor to be installed.If you need an adapter to mount a caliper & allow for a 180mm rotor on the front wheel of your bike, the SHIMANO SM-MA90 Disc Brake Adapter (for Post Front) should fit the bill.Thank you for taking the time to read this review, I hope you found it helpful.

I asked if it would work and was told it would, NOT EVEN CLOSE! Had to go to the local bike shop and get the correct adapters! TOTAL WASTE OF TIME! SENT BACK!

This bracket does exactly what it's suppose to do, and has no problem doing it. It's durable, looks good, easy to install, and it's Shimano. It's a pretty simple, but crucial product, no complaints. Not a bad price.

The braket itself? Is good quality, but the bolts that comes with it? Are so thiny and terrible frail.I have to replace them both bolts two months later of ussage.

Upgraded from a 160 mm to 180 mm on my Diamondback Axis, perfect for going to a 180 mm.

Did the trick for mounting my disc brake on my rear. This is for 180mm rotor fit. No spacers needed. You do need the IS bolts for your caliper.

Do perfectly the job. The price is a bit high.

Sono passato da un disco 160mm a 180mm (shimano) sulla mia mtb, impianto frenante tektro auriga e forcella suntour.Adattatore leggerissimo e facile da montare, le istruzioni spiegano chiaramente il procedimento. Una volta montato il tutto le pastiglie risultano perfettamente in linea con il bordo esterno del disco, per un'usura uniforme e una frenata al top.

Usato per montare degli shimano M520 su specialized Enduro 29" al posteriore con disco da 180mm, fa il suo lavoro, in confezione arrivano le viti e le rondelle da utilizzare al posto di quelle nella confezione dei freni dato che sono più lunghe e di lunghezza diversa tra loro.
