Why did you choose this product over others?: Not had this for one month yet, but so far, so good. I have tried a direct Ethernet cable to the hub and had slightly higher speeds, but in terms of practicality, this device does the job. It is very much faster the the old generation from 10 years ago. Having wifi also built into the remote endpoint does help with devices that require the lower 2.4 GHz range and has a split for 2.4 and 5 GHz so you can get the best out of Wifi equipment, like wifi light bulbs etc... The pass-through power point on the device is really helpful as I have limited sockets and need the device to be connected directly to the socket, not through a surge protector as per instructions... The only way to know how good the speed is will be to try the unit, as it is a case-by-case basis with a building's wiring and many other factors affecting it. Works for me. Wifi signal: Separate 2.4 GHz/5 GHz is useful, allowing 2.4 GHz only devices to connect without compromising on higher speeds for 5 GHz compatible devices. Speed: It can vary, however, my network is showing 543 Mbps on the tpPLC desktop app. The tpPLC app is what is needed to determine how the units are working on the mains wiring and for wifi configuration. The number fluctuates, but the connection has been good and working with games, downloads and streaming video. If I wanted to fully utilise a 1 Gbps connection, Ethernet direct link would be the only way, but for 100-120 Mbps internet, this device works well. Build quality: The device seems well constructed. Design: The design includes buttons for pairing on the mains between the hub-connected endpoint and the remote extension endpoint, making installation easier. There are clear instructions. It is best to check which button is which before plugging in the unit because it is harder to see once on the wall! Wireless connectivity: Again, having a separate 2.4 GHz is helpful as the hub I was connecting to did not have a feature to split this. Using this product has completely negated the 2.4 vs 5 GHz wifi issue. Gaming capability: Working fine with current ping (including ISP) at 13ms using an Ethernet cable connected to the device and stable data connection, and thus far no drop-outs.

This is an excellent alternative to WiFi extenders which generally won't help in powering a signal through thick walls. This was the issue I had and the powerline sorted it out. There was a little bit of a fiddle to get it all up and running properly, making sure both networks were named the same etc but nothing too difficult if you have a little patience. My phone will generally swap between the original router and the powerline as I move through the house, and on the occasions it doesn't I just turn my phone's WiFi on and off again and it connects to the strongest signal in a couple of seconds. Devices that are permanently situated near either the router or powerline will stay connected to the strongest signal all the time. I have a few smart speakers in the house and some connect to the router, others to the powerline, this doesn't pose an issue for them working in tandem which was the only real concern I had. The fact these come with a spare socket after you've plugged them in is great as a lot of my sockets are singles only. Top marks, as despite the fiddly set up at points, it's to be expected and I've set up multiple other different devices in the past which were nightmares compared to this.

Bought and installed in December 2023, worked flawlessly until the AV1300 Adapter failed in June 2026. I first noticed the network dropped in the area where the powerline extended to, then, when troubleshooting, first the ethernet light on the AV1300 adapter wasn't on (despite being wired to the router and the router being online), then all the lights were on (next time I unplugged it then plugged back in), but there was no connection to the AV1300 Extender. Disappointing, but I will still buy another one, as this Powerline solution worked really well for me when WiFi extenders didn't. I have 900mbps fast fibre but it doesn't extend out to my garden room (converted, brick built garage), ie through the brick wall of the house then the brick wall of the garden room and a distance from the router of about 15 metres. Clearly speed will vary depending on your wiring, but my powerline speed was still around 50mbps and reliable, so worked well for working from that room, streaming TV etc. Anyway, researched and seems this is still the current option from TP-LINK, so will now look to buy a replacement AV1300 Adapter

This is an excellent pair of products. It does exactly what is advertised, which is to extend a wi-fi network from a router to any place on the same electricity circuit. It works well and is quick to install. The adapter plugs into the router and a mains socket, and the extender plugs into any mains socket on the same household supply eg garden shed or detached or underground garage, as long as they have a plug socket. It offers not only WiFi but also ethernet access. The instruction leaflet is accurate but UK and EU users should notice that the pictures are upside down due to electrical plug orientation. Not a problem, though.

Bought this kit to upgrade my 14-year-old Develo dLan adaptors and add (what I hoped would be) Mesh Wireless around the house. Unfortunately, there were a number of issues with this kit, First - The connection speed to the Injector was really poor - I was seeing between 11Mb/s and 6 Mb/s connection speeds between the injector and the AV1300 units. I was able to verify that the Injector was the issue by pairing my old dLan adaptor (as injector) and repeating the speed tests with the AV1300 (yes surprisingly this did worked), with the 14-year-old dLan adaptor I was seeing connection speeds of around 30Mb/s to 32Mb/s - not only faster but overall more stable too. Second - I would have overlooked this issue and just used the old dLan adaptors, however, what isn't obvious is that these devices do not Mesh networks between themselves, they will only extend a Mesh network controlled from a ONEMesh TP-Link compatible Router. So unlike other brands that will Mesh between the adaptors on the network - these do not, they only offer options to copy settings between adaptors and behave as independent access points unless you have one of their ONEMesh routers. This wasn't clear from the product description and for me a deal-breaker. Third - The software interface for setting these devices up is awful, it's clunky and offers no in-depth system configuration at all, I am not sure why they bother making it to be honest. The web interface on the devices is actually great and offers all the functionality you might need - I am not sure why the iOS/Android/Desktop App exists. The Home kit and the additional AV1300 are currently on their way back to Amazon, I intend to replace them with a Devolo Magic 2–2400 kit, My hope is that these offer better performance and actually provide a Mesh network around the house...

In theory the Ethernet and WiFi signal should be transmitted efficiently and seamlessly through the wall sockets on the SAME electric circuit in your home. My 6 year old AV600 kit did a very good job of extending the WiFi signal and Ethernet bandwidth but did not have: 1. The Passthrough that frees up a plug space on your wall socket. 2. The plug was at the top and the Ethernet access connection at the bottom which meant the plug would not insert fully because it overhung the skirting board. 3. Each plug had its own password so you could not move from room to room with seamless WiFi but had to select the WiFi plug and insert its password. The new Passthrough Powerline WiFi extenders are better designed with the Ethernet connectors at the top and the plug situated at the bottom fully inserts into the wall socket without hitting the skirting board. But: 1. The WiFi signal is almost non existent with frequent drop outs. 2. It’s pointless having a seamless WiFi signal that is so weak that my 5G roaming data keeps switching in so often that I’ve used up my monthly allowance within 4 days. 3. The bandwidth download is a pathetic 12Mbs and drips out. Verdict: My AV 600 Powerline extenders deliver up to 100Mbs WiFi effortlessly with no drop outs in each room but you do have to manually switch (on your smartphone) between extenders when you move from room to room. That’s not a problem with static computers, laptops or gaming consoles. On balance I will stick with the old AV600 Ethernet and WiFi extenders as the bandwidth and coverage is far superior and switching extenders when moving from room to room is a minor inconvenience.

These are excellent , it took me a few times to set it up as I put it straight into garden room and couldn’t put password in as my phone had blocked it . Reset it with button and Had to set it all up next to router then just put it straight into garden room and has worked perfect ever since

** 12/2024 All the below is still true, but as with many Powerlans I've bought they have limited lifespans. I've bought cheap no name units that last a year. This TP link lasted 2 years before the unit connected to the router died. They are basically consumables. Be prepared to swap them out.** The Decent increase in speed, the picture shows using a wired connection to my laptop. Wifi perfromance has also increased, although I dont have a Before picture for that. Previously I was using the TPLink AV600 which was fine, but I saw this item on a black Friday deal and so thought i'd upgrade. As with the AV600 I just couldnt get these to copy the wifi settings from my Virgin hub using the one-click WPS method. It thinks about it for a while and then fails. This is almost certainly a Virgin/Superhub fault not a fault with these. It's easy enough to download the app from the play store and manually configure. I gave the Wifi the same SSID name as my main network and everything seems to work; my phone moves to the strongest signal. I mainly got this for the wired connection capability though and im really pleased at the speed increase. One thing to note is that the units are about 2 or 3 times the height of the dinky AV600, and the cable comes out the top not the bottom. I had to find another plug to use and run some ethernet cable because I didnt have sufficient clearance.

Looked through loads of docs, installed related apps. None allow me change from default password. Major security flaw.

Wast money for the product and custom charge plus post charge if return. It is not The Canadaian standard. Useless.

Nice solution. Works well and also paired in additional non-wifi units. Has resolved my issues with patch cables all over as wifi wasn't supporting the internet access speeds I was needing

Easy to setup. Plug to your sockets and the wired connection works instantly. However I couldn't get the easy mesh to setup with my archer 72 and need to setup another SSID for my room. Otherwise it's just plug and play
