did not receive the item from the listing
i bought this as a gift, wanting the Etch-a-Sketch to be 7.5" x 5.5", as the description says. i received a very miniature one which was only 3" x 2.5". i feel like the description is wrong. if i look look at the picture, it's hard to tell the scale of the item, but it looks like the item is smaller than stated. i suspect that if i ordered it again, the description is wrong, and i would receive the tiny one again.currently priced at over $17, that is WAY too much for a miniature product, in my opinion. plus, i had bought it as a gift, and i felt this looked too skimpy to be a good gift, since it was so small, so i had to hurry and go get something else to go with it.i contacted Amazon customer service, and they worked out an acceptable partial refund. at first they wanted to re-order the item and send it again, but i feared there is actually not a 7.5" version available, and that i would get the miniature one again, and the customer service rep said he could not be sure the item description is correct, so i didn't want to take the risk of bothering to return the one and then getting the same very small one again.if you want an actual pocket-sized one, though, it works great, and is just like the original in all other ways. a good, creative toy.

A classic for any child!
This product was a bit smaller then I thought it would be, but that's my fault for not paying attention to the measurements :) My almost 6 year old LOVES it and it keeps him engaged for long periods of times. The fact that it's small is actually a benefit because it makes it easier for him to hold has he manipulates the dials! Great classic toy!

CHEAP
I can't believe that Ohio Art would even sell these. They are a disgrace to the original size. It was meant for a stocking stuffer, when it came (late) they shipped it by itself (was supposed to be in a group of free shipping items) I ended being charged $17.00! It didn't work! It wouldn't erase. I was so frustrated over the whole thing, I just threw it away! I was not going to spend a dime more returning it.
