Rothco WWII Vintage Sweater

The sweater is streamlined, long, and feels comfortable. I am 6’6”, 35” long sleeves, and I wear a 42” long coat. The length falls 6” below my waist, and the sleeves run a little past my wrists. My stomach is flat. Knowing all that, size Large fits like a glove.The sweater looks a little fragile. I have to be careful how I take it off because I know I will get a hole in it. I don’t think I will be able to throw it in the washer and dryer.If you like military clothes and you’re a slim or muscular guy, definitely buy one of these. Feels and looks great. This sweater is perfect for the price. I ordered 3x and I normally wear a Xl. So up size! Fits perfect but form fitting not loose at all and long too. I've worn sweaters similar to this and it's typical with the sizing. No imperfections with the stitching I could notice, great manufacture, if it were real wool it would be more expensive obviously but I love this ww2 sweater as is.

I really like these retro-style military type sweaters, and I own three of them (an RAF and two Royal Marine sweaters). I have had them for months or years, without any problems. I purchased the sweater in the photo from Captain Dave just before Christmas. I got it in a large, the same as the other sweaters I wear. The first time I wore this sweater, it tore, as you can see in the photo. The hole on the right was immediately noticeable; the smaller tear I saw soon after. I asked about returning the sweater for a refund, but Captain Dave's return policy is that the buyer has to cover the cost of return shipping. Having been accustomed to, and spoiled by, Amazon's return policy, I was frustrated that Captain Dave would not cover the return cost. I am out almost $53 for a cheaply made sweater, and I have to pay to get a refund? How is that in any sense fair or just? It isn't. Sadly, in this case, the Amazon A-Z Marketplace refund policies does not apply; I had several emails with Amazon, as well as chats. I guess Captain Dave has its own alphabet, possibly spelled RIP-OFF or CHEAP, that is outside the A-Z of Amazon. If you choose to buy from Captain Dave, know that you take a risk. I have a sweater that I am too embarrassed to wear or even give away to a thrift store.

Very nice sweater. I followed the suggestions of the other reviewers and ordered the XXXL. I an 6'1'' and 200# and this sweater fit me perfect after washing. I normally wear a XL in sweat shirts which are somewhat loose, and a size L in dress sweaters which fit just right. It is no joke when I say follow the reviews as far as sizing or you'll be sending it back. I would have given 5 stars but the finish work on the seams at the end of the sleeves and bottom of sweater were not great. I had to over sew them to prevent unraveling. Not a hard fix if you are handy with needle and thread.

This is a well made sweater that looks amazing on my husband. I read the reviews and how going a size up was the way to go. So instead of ordering a XXL, I ordered him the XXXL and it fit perfect, not tight. I am so grateful to honest reviewers! I was worried when it first arrived, because as it hangs it looks smaller than it truly is. So instead of waiting to give it to him for his birthday, I decided to give it to him on the spot, to make sure it would fit. Thankfully it did and I know this will be one of his favorite things to wear. Just remember to order a size up if you want the sweater to be slightly loose. Order your actual size if you have a great physique and want to show it off. ;) I wish I could find other colors in his size, because I would order some more!

I love everything about it. However, I just tried burning a hanging thread and damned near caught fire. The whole sleeve caught fire for a moment. I was lucky. It seems to be extremely flammable.

I like everything about this sweater except that the size ran small! All I wear is 2XL, and this one ran small.

2nd one I bought, 1st Lg extremely small X-Lg small also. Gets expensive trying to find fit. They are absolutely crazy on the sizes for North America

It seems that it is made for smaller men than the american avertie person. The fit is too tight and the sweater too long. Very poor design. The sizes do not correspond to the north american men built. It is a nice model unique that should be reingeeniner.
