I bought this battery clip-on to replace the clamps that I got with my little air compressor.To pump up my car tires.The clamps that came with the air pump, hate to say this,but it was garbage. These clamps are so strong it's like using a set of good jumper cables.You really have to put some pressure to open them. Now don't get me wrong I'm notcomplaining I was very shocked to see how strong they were. I was amazed.For the money I paid under $10 you cannot go wrong the clamps alone is well worth the money.I am very very pleased with this product. As a matter of fact I bought two sets one for meAnd one for my brother he couldn't believe the price I paid either.I highly recommend this product to everyone, you will not go wrongIf you bought this. I am and so was my brother what they callCar guys and I'll be dame I'm proud of it.Hooked it up to the air pump it worked GREAT. I didn't think I would get what I received. The clamps are not that big, perfect size and very, very strong.Like I said I am very happy with this product.

Very good quality! I was pleasantly surprised to find such good and sturdy clamps.They are very good clamps that have copper teeth that grip really well and a heavy enough gauge wire to handle any normal use.I have put it to the test over and over with a high power marine spot light I used to drain deep cycle marine batteries that I am reconditioning.That process is best done slowly and steady.Using this for days at a time I consistently checked to see if there was any overheating in any part of the adapter.I found no problem with the Bestek product.It actually outlasted the original cigarette plug that came with the spotlight!After days of draining batteries,The original plug was starting to get a cooked smell of burnt plastic.I checked the adapter and it was not even warm.I would definitely recommend this for any 12volt or 24volt normal use(12volt air inflater-spotlight-electronics charging etc.).I believe it could easily handle 10 amps at 24 volts or 20 amps at 12 volts.

This nearly 4-foot long, high quality, 12V/24V "alligator" clamps battery connector uses thick 11-12 gauge (4 mm) copper electrical wire solder-connected to copper clamps, both of which are encased within high quality plastic and fiber glass outer covers to avoid transmitting accidental shocks. I purchased this Cigarette Lighter Socket to Battery Clamps Adapter to power a Craftsman 12 volt Tire Inflator directly from the battery in my car. This Bestek was the only one I could find with larger than 16AWG wire which I desired for my higher current draw. It looked good, and the reviews were mostly positive, so I purchased it. When I received it my feelings were mixed between things about it I liked and things I did not. The Battery clamps appear to be made of plastic with a glass resin making them stronger than just plain plastic, which is great, but the plastic thickness around the rivet at the pivot point on the clamps is noticeably thinner that than every where else on the clamp. The springs and the rivets in these clamps are very stout no issues there. The wire ends are both crimped and soldered to the stout hard copper jaws in the clamps. And as one other reviewer noted only one jaw in each clamp is electrically connected. The Cigarette Lighter socket is a very stout piece also. The plastic around this socket is very beefy, you will not easily crush this. You will not drop this socket and alter its shape, its that stout, its very nice. The cable appears to be what it is claimed to be at 12AWG, I did not physically check it, but I did unscrew a jaw from a clamp and slide the conductor insulation back to see if it visually looked the part and it did. The 2-conductor Zip Cord or Lamp Cord Cable on this adapter was what I found the most disappointing. The cable jacket does not have the feel of standard PVC lamp cord. It feels a little softer which would make it better for cold weather flexibility, but it appears that either the insulation or the wire inside does not want to be as flexible as I would have expected it to be. Its like the insulation does what it wants to do while the wire conductors do something else. I do not know which is at fault. This leaves the cable lumpy or wavy and the lumps will not straighten out or go away. Even at the Battery Clamps where it is down to a single conductor it still has that lumpy/wavy. This lumpy/wavy cable problem may have more to do with how the cable was manufactured. Don't get me wrong the cable is very flexible over its length and it is NOT stiff, but its like the wire does not want to play nice inside the insulation leaving it lumpy or wavy down its length, and this is a brand new, just purchased cable. This is more of a form issue than a function issue. So as long as it continues to work I will at least have function and that's good. With a little work Bestek could correct the cable and plastic thickness of the clamps at the pivots and make a good item a great one.
