I have extremely thick hair which makes me look like a Super Saiyan from Dragon Ball Z every waking morning. It's practically impossible to get rid of my bedhead but this hair gel allows me to spike my hair in a way that makes me look like a normal person rather than from some cartoon show. The hold last all day including the next day, that is if you don't shower... The gel is clear and has a very nice smell to it compared to Garnier's other hair gel that is cloudy white. Don't use too much as directed on the bottle itself to only use dime-size amount; I use a little more than a quarter-size worth. I was excited about trying this product as I wanted a gel that had super strong hold. I did not find this product to hold very well. It might work best for very thick hair. I have a full head of thin hair.

Saw this Ina Walgreens drug store and gave it a try. Really like it but now can't find it anywhere but Amazon. I'm an old guy so don't spike my hair but it works for my purposes. After my hair dries I run my fingers through my hair to shift and style it a bit and it still holds my hair in place. UPDATE 0-7-25-16 ....getting ready to re-order and read some reviews again just out of curiosity. Some said it didn't have 'hold" which surprises me. I usually wash my hair every day but on occasion I don't have time. I just wet my hair, restyle without adding any more gel and it still holds all day.

I've worked through about 30 different hair products now in the search for product that can tame my thick hair. I've been using this constantly for a few years now, still trying out other products along the way. This is one of the few that actually works. Using a dime-sized amount on dry hair is enough to style my hair in a way that actually holds up to humidity and activity. If you use too much, it'll flake. If you use it on wet or even damp hair, you can get classic 90s spikes. If you pair it with a blow dryer, you can get it to hold quicker and get the style you want.

I used Joico Ice Spiker water resistant paste for years and they have discontinued it. This product (and other gels) do not compare and don't hold my short, fine hair.

I bought this stuff a long time ago in a retail store and fell in love with it. It really is great for spiking or shaping hair with a minimum amount and not too gooey. I couldn't find it in stores when I ran out, so I ordered it at a premium price here. Ouch. It wasn't cheap, but I love it! I don't have that much hair so hopefully this will last another couple of years.
