Okay for fashion, not dependable for actual work.
My husband is an Ironworker, two months on the job and the soles are separating and have chunks missing. We have had longer lasting boots from other brands, so we won’t purchase this brand again.

Contacted Danner and received new boots!!
Recently purchased for my husband, he said the boots are comfortable and the padding inside is sufficient. He usually has to purchase extra insoles for his other work boots but not with these. But they are still new so I don’t know how long they will last.***UPDATE*** After only 3-4 weeks of wear the front of the boot is starting to split. So disappointed...comfortable but do not think they will last too long. I thought for the price they would be better quality and last longer.***UPDATE TO OTHER UPDATE***I emailed Danner about the boots and they quickly responded to my email (emailed late evening and responded by 9am next morning) I shipped them back to them directly (had to pay shipping since purchased through Amazon otherwise they would have covered shipping costs). Danner explained they would look at the boots and if found defective they would send a new pair, if not defective they would ship the worn boots back. I shipped the worn boots to them on a Tuesday and by the following Monday received a BRAND NEW pair. Excellent customer service and turn around time, very impressed. I am hopeful the new pair will last.

Once they break in, they are comfy.
I have been a Danner boot owner for close to 15 years.I am not NORMALLY one to buy boots/shoes online due too my funky sized feet.I was a bit hesitant to buy these boots due mixed reviews, about size/fitment. For the price(at the time l purchased $150) l was willing to take the plunge.A selling point for me is the fact that these are NOT lined. All the Danners l have owed are lined with gortex. Not a bad thing in and of itself, except they are hot in the summer and don't breath as well as the unlined. The boots fit as l had hoped.....just fine. The only reason l gave four stars and not five is, they took about a month or so to break in. Any other Danner work boot l own/owned, had no break in period at all.Once broken in, these bad boys are just as comfortable as my other Danner work boots.I would definitely buy these again, but would oil them straight out of the box, to shorten the break in period.

No vibram sole
Okay, so Just got these in the mail, overall look great, feel awesome (but need to be broken in). Im upset they do not have a vibram sole, but i got them at a discount so whatever. Dont worry about the reviews from Iron workers saying these got destroyed in a week or whatever. (Iron workers make more than enough to afford a pair of quarrys or better and thats his cheap a** fault). Anyway, i dont work around iron or what ever , i do work around oil and other stuff. I got these because i can not use my steel toe danner quarry’s in my line of work. So we will see. Other than that you would think danner’s warranty would be better. But its not, because shoes.... worth a shot but dont complain if they dont last long. My other danners have lasted for years. Thats why i bought theseUpdate: I had to return the orginial pair. there was some sort of defect in the right boot heel. They sent me another pair back and have had no issues since. They are very well made for the cost. The only issue I still have is that they don’t have a higher quality sole.

Break in is awful, but great in time.
The first day I had these I wore them for two hours and my feet hurt for a day and a half. I was about to return them, but decided to give them a second chance. After about a week and two leather conditioner treatments they are now supple, comfortable, and my feet don't get hot. My biggest issue now is they squeak like hell on any smooth surface if they get even remotely wet, and it looks like they won't be good on snow and ice come winter, but that's yet to be seen.2 year update: I was actually upset recently when I had to replace them because I honestly didn't think I'd had them over 2 years. They're ok in winter, and fairly durable. I actually prefer the uninsulated year round, it's cooler in summer and wool socks are plenty warm by themselves most of the time in winter. Also it makes them super light, my new boots feel like bricks compared to these. I wore them every day over the past 2 years until the plastic bit in the heel broke, which seems to be where danner boots seem to wear out for me. Once that broke it seemed like my feet didn't sit right, and it got really uncomfortable. Towards the end the holes that hold the hook eyelets started to stretch to where it seems like they would let go, but never did. The squeak on smooth surfaces never fully went away, I got to the point where I'd intentionally walk in something dirty or dusty just to make it stop

Great boot! But not for heavy duty use.
This is my 3rd pair of Danners, the first pair was the Danner Temperate USMC Desert Boots that I still own since 2010. The 2nd pair is the Recon 8" Insulated 200G that I wear in the winter since they are insulated and get hot in warm weather, got them in 2011. These two boots have worked great due to the great quality and since I take care of them. Now, the Bull Run are on their 2nd winter in Chicago, pair with heavy wool socks they are great but slippery in the snow. So the Recons are the best choice for the job. Since they are not insulated they are great for the summer time as well. The Bull Run's are not waterproof so I have use Huberd's Original Shoe Grease which does a great job in repelling water and keeping the boots dry in the rain and snow. The quality is there but the material is really soft which is why the boots are so easy to break-in, are very comfortable to wear all day and I believe the boots won't hold up to heavy use. Overall great boots for everyday use and light duty use with the care they will last like my other Danner boots. Last note, I wear a size 10 in gym shoes and wear a 9.5 in Danner boots as I like a close fit boot but im also able to wear two pairs of wool socks if needed.

Amazing boots but no vibram Christie sole
Boots are amazing but pics are misleading. They DO NOT HAVE THE VINRAM CHRISTIE SOLES that the pics display

Ironworker boots. That's all.
Stiff boots that are tough to break but once it's done, form perfectly your foot. Great for climbing iron because of thick, long-lasting leather.

Good boot
Nice boots , good quality leather and soles are better than the average crepe type. A little stiff at the beginning but that means the leather will last. Give them some oil and they will soften up.
